Chapter 1.2: The next night

The elders can't be stopped, but their inhumanity can't be accepted either. Moving to another city accopmplishes nothing, the situation is the same everywhere. Now the only hpe is to band together. As a group, maybe you and the other young ones can resist the political tides that threaten to erode that which makes you human.

The lab nudges the plastic sheeting with it's nose exposing Fosters face. The canine begins staring intently at the lifeless form as the transfer begins. I don't stink. What is he talking about?First a finger twitch then the arm. Slowly the body comes back to life. Evident by the humming of his pets. Finally after about ten minutes or so the nosferatu rises. His swarm momentarily expanding with each flex of muscles. Turning his head towards the rest in the SUV. "What do you mean this dog smells better than I do? I'm one of the cleanest of my kind, or so my sire say's".

He lull's the pooch in close and begins petting it. Calming the animal with each stroke of his hand. Leaning in towards the animals neck Foster gently pierces its neck. He draws only a small amount of the precious crimson not wishing to kill the animal. Quietly he licks the wound. His hand never stopping the soft caress.
Only drawing two points of blood from the pup.
...And the stone of the earth and the wind in the sky bowed before the wisdom of the Ancient One...

Bard gets a tablet PC out of the saddlebag of his bike, closes the gate behind the nosferatu dog, and gets into the backseat. After instructing everyone to be quiet, he puts his phone on speaker and dials.

"NSA Tampa dispatch, how can I direct your call?"

A few transfers and access codes later, Bard asks his question, relaying the coordinates. there is a five-minute wait while his contact pulls up the information, then:

"Oil drilling platform AQ1257 dash 4. Ran dry in '02 and abandoned, salvage rights claimed by Bargo enterprises July 2, 2003."

Bard simply says, "Signing out," and hangs up the phone. He looks around at the others, "We need to get a boat, I am guessing the girl is on that rig somehwere." He looks looks over the maps of the oild platform for several moments on the tablet PC.

Harold stops and thinks for a moment, "We may want to check in with the Prince. I don't know if any kindred own Bargo but he might." He keeps thinking, "Some one or something with connections is behind this cult kids though. An oil platform seems a bit much for teenagers to come up with on their own."

Duke turns the engine over and nods to Harold and Bard. "Right, we have time to night still I think. Meet you at Elysium Bard, and on your way out get that damn bleeding mutt out of my truck would you." He looks in the rearview at Foster, "You get blood on the apolstery and you will be walking back to the Haven!"

The group makes their way back to the Elysium, minus a few members from last time, but otherwise unchanged. A day has passed, btu little changes in a day within the world of the Vampires. The group passes through the foyer with no difficulties, and into the lounge. Here, things are much as they always are. Duke's sire is present, along with George Wolf, Amanda Silvain, and Sid Humes. They surround a neonate Malkavian, Marvin, who appears to have handcuffs on. On the pother side of the room is the usual galggle of Toreador, led by Elise McNiel. All three of her childer are present, as is the plastic Surgeon, Dr Max.

Foster glances about the room and those gathered within. A light humming precedes a blur of motion as once again his jacket takes flight to the coat rack. The nosferatu looks intently about the room. seeking his own sire amongst the gaggle of primogen and other assorted guest of elysium. "Duke perhaps you should see if the prince is available seeing that we are unannounced tonight". He doesn't turn to face him simply talks into the open air before him. Foster then makes his way to the window wishing to once again take in the view. The live in centipede begins to race back and forth across the emiciated digits of his left hand making this experience pleasurable for the moment.

Hope that puppy finds its way home. I would hate to see anything happen to it. It was a prime vessel for travelling tonight. She must be exhausted.... Here in elysium not knowing what reaction to expect from the prince and all the deformed man can do is think of a lowly animal. With no forethought Foster suddenly lifts his head and sniffs the air before he realizes what he is doing. Then catching himself drops his face back down and continues to stare at the night sky beyond.

Duke parks in the garage downstairs, and takes the elevator ride up in silence. He passes the security guards at the desk and enters into the Elysium with a quick scan of the room. He almost instantly turns around to hide his face from someone in the crowd. "Great, just fucking great." Shaking his head he looks a bit dejected, "Lets get this overwith, the quicker we are out of here the better." He makes sure to keep his presece as inconspicous as possible, stearing clear of a certain section of the room. More accurately the person in that section of the room. Duke will seek out a paige or other person that might be able to alert the Prince that the group has arrived, and has important information for him.

Harold just wanders in and sits down on a couch. If the Prince talks to them Duke will take the lead, and as long as his Gangrel Sire isn't here giving him hell Harold just doesn't care about Elysium. Hopefully they are right in calling on the Prince now, if he's not happy things will be bad for the group. Since it was his idea that means later on things will be bad for Harold.

The leader of the Masq does not fail to notice her accidental childe, but she doesn't approach him, either. She has better things to do. The page confirms this, telling Duke that he will inform the Prince of his request, but the influential coterie led by his sire has precedence. He is halfway through his conversation with the Page when Simon Muir, the primogen of the Brujah clan and former prince of the city enters from the direction of the back offices. He nods to another Page, who immediatly escorts the masq and their prisoner into the back.
