Rhokti and his monkey wave goodbye to the Brahmin man, then the Mantrika turns to Vivec. "Is there a proper tree nearby where I can sleep? It has been a long time of using beds and shelves."

Janak gathers his meager things and heads home to spend the night. Vivec shows Rhokti to a park like areas along one of the nearby river fingers, and returns home. An three spend the night comfortably for the first time in a long while. In the morning they meet back up at Vivecs house, rested and fed.

Morning arrives on Asvina the 11th. Today is the 31st day memorial of Sharma Variya's funeral.

At first light, Janak appears, dressed more for travel, with a glint of mail beneath his clothes and a red crystal dagger at his belt. But he apparently packs very light, because all he carries for baggage is a leather satchel he carries over his shoulder.

"Well," he says as Vivec opens the door, "the house is closed up and the keys handed over to the caretakers; there's no one at the temple expecting me back for months; and I've gathered what I think I'll need." He steps inside. "I'm ready whenever you are."

Shortly after Janak makes his appearance, a pair of monkeys climbs into the through a window. One of them is recognizable as Rhokti's companion, owing to the dessicated hand around her neck. The other monkey appears to be completely normal. It chitters happily at both Brahmin.

At the approach of the monkeys, Janak reaches into his satchel and brings forth a small amount of trail food - a bit of a honeyed cake, some nuts, and dried fruit. He holds the food out in his hand before the two monkeys. "HEre you go, you two," he says. "Hungry?"

The End

Post by Vardaen » Wed Jan 30, 2008 7:18 pm

Ok both Bit and od are away.
The monkeys grab the fruit from Janak's hand and make a bunch of pleased Ooot and Eeek noises as they much away on them. Vivec has taken longer than planned to get ready, but finally he is. Dressed in a new jama, and loaded up for the trip back into the jungle he comments, "First we shall go to the Temple again, then we rejoin the others at the Crown of Silver Courage."

Without waiting for Rhokti to arrive Vivec leads his friend Janak, and the two monkeys, (one rides on the shoulder of each man), through the city back to the temple. Arriving there you enter into the large ziggurat's base right in the middle of a large prayer service, the place is very busy but that doesn't stop Vivec from doing what he wants. He suggests Janak remain at the door with the monkeys. "I will not be that long."

Then entering alone, through the crowds he vanishes into he inside of the temple. Some thirty minutes later he reamerges, a concerned look on his face, and and unwillingness to talk about what just happened while he was inside. "Come. It is time we rejoin Shamad and the others." The little male monkey Oots. The two men walk to a private location among the temple out buildings. "Alright Rhokti, lets go." The monkey leaps from Janak's shoulder to the ground and scampers around in a circle before suddenly transforming from a monkey into a monkey-man! Taking on the hybrid form, his true self, Rhokti appears as a mike between a tall monkey and young wide eyed man from yesterday. "Hold on, Durjaya is tricky with new people." Before Janak can say anything about Rhokti's transformation, the Mantrika grabs hold of Vivec and Janak, and so Pazi. There is a shimmer, and suddenly the four are in the Void. Janak can feel the universe around him, as one with him, and traveling through him as he travels through it -- it makes him sick. Suddenly the four exit the Void, the echoing howling of a baboon in their ears as Janak doubles over sick to his stomach.
