Prelude: The Way of the Jedi

Kaath sees that Nic doesn't yet attack the turret and figures that the human is trying to get the other turret to take out the first one. The Zabrak continues running alongside Nic, giving into Nic's experience in the battle room and combat in general. With his pistol in hand, he switches off the safety and maintains pace with the padawan.

Nic 24, Kaath 11, Turrets 4

Both turrets continue to fire at Nic, but both stun bolts fly past without hitting anything besides the walls far behind the young man.

Turrets

Att 15, Fail. Att 12, Fail

Nic now stands only five meters away from the left most turret, with Kaath directly on his heels. Both stand about twenty meters from the second turret which is firing relentlessly from the opposite side of the room.

[Trogdor]

"Let's see if we can take this one out," Nic says as he approaches the turret. "Then we can plan our assault on the next one from behind some cover."

When he gets next to the turret, the padawan slashes out with his lightsaber, trying to disable it.

Action

Move Action: Advance on the close turret (keeping it between me and the far turret)
Standard Action: Attack the turret, trying to disable it.

The young padawan takes up his lightsaber and steps forward, swiping at the turret before him. The lightsaber sparks against a portion of the turret, but not the main section, taking off a piece of the turret's sensor, but leaving the thing functional in general.

Kaath follows his friend's suggestion and lifts up his pistol. He pulls the trigger and releases a burst of energy directed at the turret as he steps around to put the turret between him and the other turret.

Nic 24, Kaath 11, Turrets 4

Kaath attempts to put the turret they are attacking in between himself and the opposite turret. Unfortunately the turret's blaster has a wide range of motion, and it is probably impossible to effectively use this strategy. He does however level his blaster at the turret closest to him and fire. The bolt rocks the turret, causing smoke to billow into the air, but the turret still seems functional as the blaster follows Kaath as he steps from behind Nic.

The turret's blaster moves toward Kaath and fires, but the damage the turret has taken seems to prevent a clean shot, and the bolt misses and fires past the zabrak without doing any damage.

The second turret also fires, but at Nic, and although this turret is not damaged, it also misses badly. The bolt flies past the padawan and into the wall far behind him.

With little else in the way of tactics to offer, Nic continues to try and cut important pieces away from the turret before him. There were Force abilities, he knew, that could help him significantly. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the level of discipline required to use them.

Action

Standard Action: Attack Turret.
Move Action: If the turret is destroyed in the attack, move towards the other one.

As before, deflect if the opportunity presents itself.

Nic 24, Kaath 11, Turrets 4

Nic brings back his lightsaber with both hands over his shoulder and swings it downward toward the turret. The blade slices through the top of the turret and cuts the thing in half! Now disabled, the turret is no longer a threat to the padawan or potential padawan. Knowing this, Nic steps toward the second turret that stands about twenty meters away.

Kaath moves to position himself behind the now inoperable turret and levels his pistol towards the remaining turret. The Zabrak fires another round downrange towards the second turret hoping that the structure of the closest turret might afford him some cover.

Kaath attempts to duck behind the first turret, and perhaps it gives him some cover, perhaps not. He does level his blaster, which is slightly out of range, and shoots the target. Luckily the turret cannot move, and the blast rocks the front of the thing, causing it to smoke, but the blaster still appears functional.

When the turret fires, it does so toward Nic, but perhaps the weapon's computer has been damaged by Kaath's blast. The stun bolt flies wide and misses Nic badly from twenty meters away.
