"Is it possible that someone may be here who could hide his presence from you?" Nic asks respectfully. "The Academy must draw the attention of the dark side of the Force as well as the light side. There are no doubt those who follow the dark side who would see it fail."

Luke Skywalker considers, looking at Nic now, "I doubt it," he says simply, "The Dark Side is something I can sense greatly. If the Force were at work, for Light or Dark, I should be able to feel its presence. I do not think there is any so strong in the Force that would be able to hide this from me."

The Merc listens to the Jedi talk about the Force and sensing this or that but dispite all that's happened in the last years he isn't too full of faith in the Force. He awaits permission to be dismissed...nah, nevermind, he doesn't. He stands up and gives a half hearted salute to who ever is in charge. "Look, I need an hour, and then I'll be ready down in the hangar decks or whever you want me to be. Till then..." He moves to the door, opens it and exits.

Kaath listens to the Master Jedi speak and considers his words of warning and information. The Zabrak remains quiet, as he has through most of the meeting, and continues to digest the information presented by the commander and the Jedi Master.

The XO shrugs, "Well, that sounds like a plan, I think." He stands, nodding slightly, "Meet our mercencery friend in the hanger bay in an hour. I think we should be able to have everything prepared by then." The Intelligence Officer and Skywalker also stand in preperation of leaving the room.

"...So. If this operation is going to consist of a soldier, a mercenary, and two of Master Skywalker's students, we're all going to have to get to know each other and familiarize each unit member with our capabilities if we want to accomplish anything. My name is Davar Soldat- obviously, the soldier. I joined up about a year after Yavin, and I did...some stuff I can't really talk about. I'm a QCB unarmed-combat specialist, a pretty fair pilot, and a decent medic.
And you?"
Davar extends a hand for Kaath to shake.

"I'm Nic Antares," the Jedi student says as he rises. He wears a more traditional Jedi outfit, loose fitting tan trousers and shirt with a slightly darker overtunic. He has added a standard New Republic survival belt on which he hangs his lightsaber, and wears a Republic issue blaster on his side.

"I'm a padawan at Master Skywalker's Jedi Academy. I have basic weapons and pilot training, but mostly I've been focusing on learning the Jedi Code, using the Force, and lightsaber fighting."

The lone Zabrak stands and proudly introduces himself holding his hand out for the human to shake, "I am Kaath Eeth, Iridonia Zabrak." He wears a long tunic vest over a pair of loose fitting cargo pants. The Zabrak also wears a cloak hiding most of his arms. From the side, a standard-looking (i.e. Rebel alliance issued) pistol is seen strapped to his belt.

Kaath is a young Zabrak, but he has earned his clan markings. Between his vestigial horns his face is tattooed with a traditional Zabrak marking. The young man states, "I am a student studying the force at the academy. And so, I am still learning to control the force, but I am a fair shot with my pistol. I also speak a couple of languages: Bothese and Mon Calamarian." (Along with Zabrak and common as would be generally known.)

"You both look pretty young. Tell me honestly- if, as seems likely, we get into a firefight in the course of all this, how well do you think you'll handle it?"

"I am young, it's true." The young padawan does not seem at all defensive about the issue. "But I was training to join the Rebellion since I could hold a blaster. I've also been a student for the past year at Master Skywalker's Jedi Academy, and his regimen is rigorous - not only in combat training but in working to master my emotions, particularly fear."

"It's true that I haven't been in any real firefights," he offers. "And I understand that you never truly know how someone will react until they experience it for real. But I've seen plenty of fire in training. I can also tell you that some of the Jedi exercises for mastering fear are pretty intense. I don't know that a firefight can be much worse."
