The Merc, Corvan Tal, a human, has already exited the room when the introductions start. You'll have to wait to find out more about him, however any questions about him to anyone in the briefing room turns up that the man is a fair scout and spy as well as a decent shot with his rifle and has been working as a hired mercenary since the end of the war.

In 1 hour he's waiting in the hangar bay, ready for the mission, a drink in hand that is just about empty.

The four eventually meet at the hanger bay. There is a small transport awaiting them, along with the XO and Master Skywalker. The XO waves over everyone, "Here is the transponder," he says, handing it to Soldat. "We are moving our forces into position. When you get there, go ahead and send the code, then notify command." He pauses, "We'll monitor and appraise you of the situation from there."

Skywalker stands there emotionless, but speaks, "Let the Force guide you. I have no doubt this shall be a success."

"Thank you, Master Skywalker," Nic says respectfully. "We'll do the Academy proud." Then he turns and joins the assembled team. He climbs in the transport, taking the copilot's seat, leaving the pilot's seat for Soldat. "Let's get this show on the road," he says, with perhaps a touch too much eagerness.

Corvan nods at the XO, "I want hazard pay for this." He flashes a smile and climbs onto the transport setting up on the side of the door so he can lean out the door, with Rifle at the ready in case there is need to strafe the jungle below. He straps himself in tight, ready to go.

The young Zabrak answers the soldiers question with the rhetorical question, "Have you ever fought alongside a Zabrak not willing to give his life for the cause?" The Zabrak is proud of his heritage, but doesn't imply (implicitly or explicitly) lesser of any of the other species.

As they reach the transport, Kaath issues a short bow to the Jedi Master and then enters the ship. The Zabrak isn't overtly talkative, but responds when questioned or has something important to say. Needless to say, chit-chat isn't the student's forte.

Soldat takes the transponder, tests the navigation and comm systems of the transport, then lifts off and pilots it to their destination.
Nothing eventful en route?

The Plan In Action

Post by TetNak » Fri Dec 29, 2006 1:55 am

Soldat does not need to pilot the transport. A pilot arrives soon after and ushers Soldat into the co-pilot's chair. "Okay," he starts, "Get strapped in. I'll be hover over the landing area and you will all jump out." The pilot does not wait for any reply, but after a quick check of his gauges, the ship zips out of the hanger and into the sky above.

The trip is not very long, flying low to the trees, and over a plateau near where the probe droid was destroyed. The pilot yells, "Here is the drop point!" He lowers the transport a bit over a small clearing, leaving about a two meter jump from the ship. "Go!"

Corvan motions for the others to make the jump first. "I'll cover with my rifle!" He puts his eye to his scope and scans the jungle and the brush for signs of danger. He keeps his eyes pealed for signs of danger, finger on the trigger of the rifle. If/Once the others make the jump and land he gives a sign that he's going to jump and for them to cover him. He then jumps the short distance, rolls and tries to come up with rifle at the ready.
Obviously use Jump and Tumble skills.

This one's gung-ho. We're setting up an ambush/observation position, not making a combat drop.
Davar makes the drop without comment or apparant difficulty, keying in his helmet commlink as soon as he hits the ground.
"Soldat to base. We've made the drop, but have not yet activated the transponder- I just wanted to make sure everything is in position on your end before I hit the switch."
Guys, I don't think 2 m is enough to demand rolls to mitigate fall damage.

Nic moves to the door and drops out without any hesitation. Compared to some of the things Master Skywalker had him do during training, this was nothing.

Once on the ground he stands with his back to the others, scanning the area around them for any sign of surveilance.
Use Jump and Tumble to mitigate the effects of the fall. (Take Ten on the Tumble roll.)
