Prelude: Leaving the farm

What if Daniel howling Coyote lived 100 years earlier? Magic has awoken in the wild west, and justice is dealt out at the point of a gun and the flip of a card.

6 day rule on bren
The Marshal looks the man up and down, considering what he said, then spits on the floor. "Shit. Guess we've got to go talk to the injun bosses, then. I'm not giving up on this just because that man crossed the border." He stands and hikes his belt up, leaving his food mostly uneaten on the table. "C'mon Lucas. if God says you're to help me kill this guy, you'll need the injuns ok to do his work."

As the Marshall rises Lucas eyes the food they are about to leave behind and grabs the spare burger to go. It shouldn't cause trouble, eating a white mans leavings and the priest is hungry.

The trio make their way out of the bar and over to the Council's governmental center. It is a large building that used to be the center of a large mining operation. Now it is the center of Governmental power for the Native American Nation. There, the Marshal begins talking, frequently referring to the other two men for testimony of what they've seen in an attempt to convince whoever he's talking at to elevate his request for free passage up another level. Although in American Government, this process would take weeks, here, two hours pass before the three men are sitting in a waiting room, waiting for an audiance with a member of the council, who is in charge of the lands into which Kane has gone.

Lucas just sits quietly and answers the questions that the Marshall needs him to. Right now the best he can manage is to tag along, and to make sure that any free passage the Marshall gets is granted to him too. Of course, he'd likely continue the pursuit either way. not many of the Injuns care when some one the white man hates more than then wanders through.

Eventually a young page comes in and leads you to the councilman's office.
