Prelude: Seppun Koshiro

Toturi III is dead. The Empire is left without an Emperor. Toturi's wife, Toturi Kurako, rules as the Empress until her husband's written wishes can be found and acted upon.

With the Emperor dead, others seek to gain power. One such man is the Khan of the Unicorn Clan, Moto Chagatai, who currently lays siege to the Imperial City, Toshi Ranbo wo Shien Shite Reigisaho.

Re: Preparing for Tea

Upon return to the barracks Koshiro allows himself some time to bathe, enough so that the warm waters soothed his shoulder and cleaned away the day's exertion. It is a soldier's bath, as functional and brief as can be. Their surroundings were more luxurious but indulgences would lead a man to carelessness in their honour and their duty.

Any spare time he spends studying again the battle plans of Matsu Nimuro, scouring the wisdom of the Golden Lion. He could not be so frivolous with his time when there was opportunity to ready himself for the day the Khan and his damnable hordes would come.

Not while he could study harder so he would not shame his Akodo ancestors.

As soon as it is time he heads out to the Tea House that Akira mentioned.

Koshiro prepares. He bathes and dresses for the evening. He reads for a while, but eventually knows it is time to meet the Deathseeker. Seppun Koshiro then leaves when prepared, making his way toward the Tea House.

The Glorious Dove Tea House is a quaint place located on the edge of the Lion district of the city. It caters to many of the Lion here, but also other samurai, as it is not very far from the main streets for a visit. Koshiro has been there many times, and knows that the teahouse might be busy tonight ...

Koshiro quickly ducks through the entrance, hoping to escape the winter frost and chill and the troubled thoughts that still hang over him. He's in good enough spirits though for some slight jest at the establishment's name. The Glorious Dove, a place I'm sure is renowned for bringing peaceful nights to this city.

Like the season outside the Imperial is dressed accordingly and stands out in a meticulous and untarnished silver kimono. It is decorated with bamboo wreaths of emerald that snake around him, his family's symbol. Both the mons of the Seppun and the Akodo are visible and his obi is golden with silver snowflakes, each embroidered uniquely.

He takes in the room, searching for his company for this evening before handing over his daisho for safe keeping, the kanji 'œAshita no Seken' engraved into the katana's saya. He casts a second glance across the room, searching for an empty table and over the patrons present.

Also, I may not be posting as much this week though I'll keep up, with the purchase of 24 Season 6 My free time is predicting a severe downwards slope.

When Koshiro walks into the establishment he spots several samurai walking around, eating, and drinking tea. There are some others, a few ronin, but that is the lowest of the caste here, besides the employees. A servant bows to Koshiro and offers him a table near the exit. "Konichiwa, Seppun-sama," the young girl says, "We have a fine table for you here."
