Re: Eta, the Dead, and Maho
Toshinaka notices Hideki's shaking. "It is a dangerous position. Not one that I would envy. Traveling with a group of samurai." He shrugs, "I believe you know the two Lion that travel with him. Kitsu Tadao and Matsu Akira, both fought valiantly, though, not exactly flawlessly. Your job is to serve the Empress in all things. Keep Seppun Koshiro-sama alive."

Re: Eta, the Dead, and Maho
"Good," the Seppun says, "Here is some koku, take it and use it for good that will be useful in your task. I have also acquired you better armor than the rags you have been wearing. I will get it brought to the home you are staying at currently." He pauses, "Tomorrow, first light, report to the Imperial donjon." He looks over at a sack at his side, pulling out papers for Hideki, "Your traveling papers," he says, "Marking you as an Imperial yoriki."

Re: Eta, the Dead, and Maho
Hideki stands up and bows to Seppun Toshinaka.
"Thank you Seppun." he says as he bows.
The man then takes the koku, and papers from Toshinaka. "This is a true honor you have bestowed upon me today, and I shall not disappoint you, or the Magistrate."

Re: Eta, the Dead, and Maho
"You honored yourself with your actions." Toshinaka nods, "Let us hope Koshiro-sama returns tomorrow at the latest."
He says nothing more, allowing Hideki to depart and gather his things for the day.

Re: Eta, the Dead, and Maho
Hideki returns to Sachiko's house with a sum of twenty koku, more than he has ever seen in his life. Sachiko is not home, but a young woman escorts Hideki inside and sees to his comfort and food.

"Thank you" Hideki says to the woman as she escorts him into the house. "Do you know where Sanhiko is currently?" he asks the woman after they get inside.
The young mans mind however keeps seeming to wander. His efforts had paid off, but he had not been expecting to be honored with being named as a Yoriki, at least not this quickly.
His life had changed a lot in the last few years, and everything seemed to be going by far too fast for him to comprehend fully. Seppun-Toshinaka had handed Hideki what seemed to him a small fortune, though the way the Seppun had acted it seemed like a significantly smaller sum than Hideki viewed it as...

Re: Eta, the Dead, and Maho
"She is at the market, Hideki-sama," the servant says, bowing low to the yoriki.
An hour later, after eating a meal, a messenger arrives with clothing befitting Hideki's new station. Upon the chest of the kimono is a mon, counting him amongst the Chrysanthemum Magistrates. There is a similar mon on a suit of light armor, colored a light red and emerald. The mon itself is the Imperial Chrysanthemum without the bamboo branches that signify that Hideki would be from the Imperial Family itself.
Around mid-day Sanhiko returns.

Re: Eta, the Dead, and Maho
Hideki leaves the Kimono, and armor on the bed he was given by Sachiko. and eventually finds himself sitting there just looking at them, almost as if he were afraid to actually try them on. It just seems all to fast to him.
Too intent on staring at the armor, and kimono, he doesn't really notice Sachiko come in.
