Toturi III is dead. The Empire is left without an Emperor. Toturi's wife, Toturi Kurako, rules as the Empress until her husband's written wishes can be found and acted upon.
With the Emperor dead, others seek to gain power. One such man is the Khan of the Unicorn Clan, Moto Chagatai, who currently lays siege to the Imperial City, Toshi Ranbo wo Shien Shite Reigisaho.
When the Champion pulls open the screen he spots a Moto standing before him. The man holds an ono loosely at his side. He is fully armored and dirty, not unlike other Unicorn Koshiro has seen these days.
The man's eyes flash open in dismay and surprise. He begins to pull up his ono but Koshiro moves quicker ...

"Kings have no friends, only subjects and enemies."
The Unicorn blinks. "No, no, of course not." He frowns, "You seek the Taint here?" He seems genuinely concerned, "I have heard nothing of it, or seen any signs that I am aware of. These Crane are mostly peasants besides the samurai of the Kakita Duelist School. Most have departed before we arrived."
The gaijin seems oblivious to the two 'peasants' Hideki and Takeo.

The Crab's eyes harden, although he is actually quite pleased by this turn of events. While ambushes are by their nature dishonourable, every warrior they eliminate now alone makes their job easier overall. "I seek the Taint everywhere, Unicorn-san. From the Imperials to the eta, from the Kaiu Wall to the lands of the Dragon, all are at risk. All may be traitors to the Celestial Order. Do you wish me to test you to prove your purity?" His stance clearly says that refusing is an admission of guilt.
How much armour is this guy wearing? Does it include a helm, or just the body armour? Basically want to trick him into letting me in close, maybe taking off a bit of armour, then jumping him.

The Kuni nods. "Good. Take off your helm." He looks over at the two 'peasants'. He points to Hideki and motions him forward. "You there, peasant. Come here. Take this piece of jade and touch it to his neck." Gidayu pulls off a finger of jade from around his neck and hands it to Hideki. He then draws his katana. "Do not worry, Moto-san. If your flesh does not burn at the touch of Lady Sun's tears, you are not Tainted. The only reason I hold the blade is if it turns out you are indeed a traitor to the Celestial Order." He motions again for the 'peasant' to proceed.

The Chrysanthemum Champion moves quickly, forsaking his usual stance of momentum and grace for one built on power and strength. It is a soldier's attack, efficient and brutal in execution. Though they may be his enemy Koshiro is wearied of war, over a dozen Unicorn have met their end on his father's katana and he knows many more shall drench that steel before the Empress is restored. Perhaps they have been of questionable character, but it is clear to Koshiro they are devoted to Chugo. For all the hate he tries to muster towards the Unicorn the Seppun cannot truly fault any who hold Duty to their Lord in their hearts.
He charges the surprised Moto and swipes at the gaijin's samurai's Ono, intending on disarming the man rather than outright killing him...

The magistrate balks, taking a step back. "What are you talking about? No, I will not allow a peasant near me." He puts a hand to the hilt of his scimitar. "Who are you? There are nothing here for you to investigate. Where are your traveling papers?" He frowns, "You will come with me until we can get this sorted out."
