Game Ideas: Possible New Games

Post by Vardaen » Tue Nov 24, 2015 3:55 pm

Hey all, I have been kicking around a few ideas for games, and want to see what folks might be up for. Some of these I might try and run as a one shot LIVE! but others would be better PbP.

1. Lone Wolf Adventure Game - Basically give this game a try in the setting it comes with, maybe use the pre-gen adventures at first. We played this once with Tetnak Live and it was a fun system, even using just the intro stuff. I just picked the game up, hard copy is in the mail, and PDF is in my drive.

2. Akarian Dawn - This is an old setting that TetNak and I used to run as a MUSH (there is even the Akarian Dawn website still being hosted by Brennor about it. I think I would use the Lone Wolf Adventure Game rule set for this, just switch the theme over to AD. In the deep south an unlikely people have risen up against tyranny; against the Demon-Lord Raughir. In Akar, and the capital Tenigul these people begin their lives anew, paying a heavy price for the sins of their ancestors. Can these people gain salvation against the past they once knew and the age that now befalls them? You could almost think of it like, "What happens to Harad/Umbar/Southrons after Sauron is destroyed" sort of setting. http://brennor.dyndns.org/akdawn/akdawn.html

3. StarCraft 2 - I've been interested in running an RPG set in the SC2 setting. Being members of Raynor's Raiders, or other folks working against the Dominion sometime around the Zerg Campaign expansion. Not sure on a system, perhaps the FFG Star Wars system.

4. Nightfall - Nightfalls and dawn never returns, the world is thrown into chaos as vampires, werewolves and ghouls appear. Can you survive the onslaught and determine what is behind the eternal darkness and make dawn return? Perhaps using the FFG Apocalypse RPG.

I think I prefer 1 or 2 for PbP and 3 or 4 for Live games, but I'm up for what people might want to do.

You're really wanting to do Lone Wolf?

I'm okay with it, but might prefer something else. I vote for 2 or 4 here. I know nothing about #3.

#3 would be awesome! There's a GURPS adaptation somewhere on the internet. But I don't have availability for a live game unless it is monthly.

I have a homebrew rule set for SC2 I found out there.

I'm leaning toward wanting to use the LW Ruleset, now that I have the books and am able to dig deeper into the rule set. I've been thinking of a Akarian Dawn revamp sort of thing for a while now too.

There's no magic available in LW as of yet. What will yo do about that?

I honestly think AD would be a great way to break into D&D 5E.

The various powers would work for AD to a point, was thinking the group could be Hynsadian Monks
