I always enjoy playing the social engineer character -- lots of interpersonal skills and advantages. Plus a little something special that surprises people. :-)

I had read all of the stuff here before my original post and worked up a first draft of a character. Should I post it in the character thread?

I think there's definitely a place for that sort of character, though you should give thought to what your duties will be onboard. You should definitely have some kind of shipboard skill, e.g., mechanic, gunner, sensor operations, communications - heck, even doctoring would work.

Now my character is built to be a very charismatic guy. And in the absence of enough people, I've given him the basics for being a merchant. But he's meant to be more the charismatic, natural leader type. If you wanted to build a character who filled in those merchant corners, that would be great. It certainly never hurts to have two people who can talk.

But you also don't want to ignore physical or technical abilities. We have enough points that you should be able to wear two or three hats. One should be primary, and you should be really good at that. But you should be competent in some others.

Natasha has a colorful past with several minor run-ins with the law. After serving a couple years doing community service for her part in a robbery, she decided to leave Mars and see the universe. She has served on a few vessels mainly as a cargo handler, but occasionally as a sensor or communications operator. She has good people skills and has often thought about getting into either the sales or broker fields, but she's not attracted to the structured lifestyle of those careers.

Her mild agoraphobia comes from living in the domes and tunnels of Mars. She feels uncomfortable out in the open and really dislikes EVA jobs, but she has learned to suppress her fears to a degree. Given a choice, she will always select indoor over outdoor activities.

Sorry for the delay, yes well into TL11 although there are still remnants of TL10 around yet.

Well, it looks like we'll have a charismatic crew. Eric also has Charisma 2 and Voice, and while he's not Beautiful, he is Attractive. Oh, and he doesn't have fashion sense - just wasn't appropriate.
