Broknar follows behind, a stoic look on his face betraying next to nothing about his state of mind. Although a tell-tale glint suggests that at least he is ready and looking forward to the village.

Panya says nothing as she meets us with the others. She looks around the crater only slightly surprised by the amount of change- but then, she thinks to herself, He is a God. She nods at Karug's suggestion of taking the direct route to the village. "Less time travelling will be best, I think." she says aloud. Then stops and repeats it in Orcish. She is unsure who can understand her normally, so switches so they understand her for definate.

Gaash arrives at the front door mounted atop his wolf companion Scar. The ugly mangy wolf snarls at the elf on arrival, and the small goblin rider bats it across the head. "No no no eating of the tender elfeses. The Horns says we be nice to her, she important she is, so we no eat her!" Gaash has painted his armor and his wolf with some kind of red paint, perhaps blood from meats in the kitchen, or someone else. The sign of The Horns proudly displayed on his gear, including his armor, shield, and the side of his wolf's fur. "FOR DA HORNS!" He charges off up out of the crater and into the ring of burnt forest. Gaash might be a little annoying goblin, but he seems a very capable tracker and trailblazer. He scouts the are where the group is go, points out dangers and pitfalls and even works to find the group a nice place to camp for the day.

"We set up watches, this place is stinky, and weses make sure we not get jump by big ants or smelly others." He perhaps is refering to the sulfer like smell of the burnt land, or something else, you can't be sure.
Set watches. Letting the spell casters have the appropriate times to refresh spells.

Panya tries not to flinch at the wolf's snarling, but Helima doesn't succeed in hiding her reaction. The black bird flutters in the air a bit before again settling down on her mistress' shoulder.

She nods to Gash's suggestion of setting up watches, she is alittle wary of falling asleep with this group though... she hopes that feeling will begin to lessen shortly. In the castle, He could protect her as well as Karug should one of them sneak attack her...

Urgthugak has a horse, which he keeps away from the wolf. He mounts up as the goblin did and then waits patiently for the rest of the group.

Dawn of a new day

Post by Bitom » Tue Dec 04, 2007 2:22 am

The sun rises and the small band stops, squinting against the coming light and setting up tents to keep it out. Watches are set after a bit of squabbling. It seems that the elf needs to do her reading AFTER she sleeps, whenever that is, and so she is given the last watch. The priest, as the party learns during the trip, must stop for an hour to pray at midnight, and not during the daylight sleep period, so it doesn't matter which watch he takes. In the end, Broknar ends up with the first watch, Gaash the second, Urgthugak the third, Karug the fourth, and Panya the last.

Nothing of interest happens during the day except the annoying twitter of the birds.

When the sun sets, the band is ready. The village is but four hours travel away.

Panya has a small break-fast before heading out. She has studied her spells and looks forward to reaching the village. She gazes at the setting sun and smiles an evil and toothy grimace. They will be heading to bed by the time we will get there. What a lovely surprise for them all, and just as they are shutting their eyes and relaxing for the night. She laughs aloud, not quite realizing that she didn't say it out loud.

Broknar can't help but be impressed as to how well this ragtag assembly seems to be working so far. He actually breaks a legitimate smile for the first time in longer than he can imagine but quickly stifles it. The village is near and they will learn their place, one way or another...

Gaash spends his watch in his tent, peeking out of the folds. Squinting the whole time he grumbles about the sun. It doesn't hurt him persay, but he sure as hell doesn't enjoy it glaring down at him. His wolf sleeps through the day, curled up outside tied to a tree.

When the night does come and he wakes the little goblin is in a much better mood. "Stuuipd yellow eye." He spits and gathers up, packs his things (not that he unpacked that much) and drinks another of the stolen ales, quickly running out.

Durning the next part of the trip the goblin ranges out riding before the group and scouting. He begins his sneaking patrols, keeping silent, and keeping his wolf silent. He scouts for the village, or anyone of the village. On first sighting he stops, hides, and spys on them for a while before sneaking back to the group to report what he's found.

"We shall come upon the village in the middle of the night!" Karug is pleased by this, having been to the village before. "We shall preach the word of Vartom. His will is to have this village worship him, not to commit genocide." The priest smiles, "If they resist, though, we shall make examples of them." He gives a nod to Broknar and begins to walk.
