Re: Character Generation, Background and Concepts.
I think the RoE has a whole section on the Eberron Drow with stats, items, history, lore, etc.. There's a novel written by the Eberron author (Keith Baker) that visits Xen'drik and has a lot of good info on them, too. If you're running an Eberron Drow game, then I think that RoE entry should be required reading

I glanced through the RoE entry (haven't read it yet). Seemed to be alot of background info there.
Anything major in the novels that could be shared here?

I don't have the novels with me right now. But basically, the drow are just very tribal. I don't think they are "evil", they are just not very welcoming to outsiders and are not very friendly. Sure there could be tribes that exert things that might be considered evil, but those are their traditions so they aren't pure evil. Just a culture different than most people in Khorvaire (and other places) would see. There's tribes in remote corners of earth that does some pretty strange things, but we don't consider them evil. That's just my opinion.
They don't really like the elves, since at one time both the elves and drow were both slaves under the giants there and the elves fled to Aernal and left the drow there.
A few of them act as guides with the locals, but they are mostly outcasts among their peers. However, a few have setup shop in the only port there to make some money, but most of them are still in tribes there.
I think its Book #2 of Keith Baker's series where the group visits Xen'drik. You might be able to find a preview chapter of it on his web site or Wizard's web site.

Re: Character Generation, Background and Concepts.
Alright y'all, I was thinking that we might list our thoughts on what classes we are thinking on playing.
I am thinking of playing a favored soul of Vulkoor, and was wondering if anyone was planning on playing a cleric, as that will effect my spell selection down the road, in terms of healing spells.
Also a question for you Grim, we are using the stats for drow as they appear in the MM, but drow exotic weapons would be considered martial weapons right?

Re: Character Generation, Background and Concepts.
Yes as per the MM, but the drow weapons are still exotic. There is a feat from RoE (Drow Skirmisher, page 109) that makes them martial with some bonuses.

Aw, ya beat me to it, ek. Saw that in Secrets and thought that was pretty nifty.
I'll go with a Sorpian based fighter dude... and yes... going with that feat that makes the Drow weapons martial.
Haven't decided whether I'll be going for the scorpian gauntlet rend thingy or not... That'd be different though.

I'm rather swamped lately, I probably can't manage this game, sorry.
