"Damn this wound!", Rego barks in a hushed tone. "Two more you say. Then perhaps it is I that owes you a drink Solaria". The priest's forhead wrinkling slightly as he thinks to himself suddenly...

"Thank you for everything, your highness," Jericus says with a bow. "Meeting you had been a rare pleasure. But I think I speak for both of us when I say that I hope the Inquisition finds no more reason to take up any of your time." Then he backs away and meets up with Lt. Reginald to head to the ship.

Haxtes keeps quiet during the ceremony. His mind is busy with mental technological blueprints as well as trying to find a formal solution to the old problem of 'what is truth?'. Perhaps a new, semantics based artificial formal language could do the trick. But Magos Tarski has already tried that and been only moderately successful. Perhaps a better formalized language would do it?

His thoughts take him away from the strange human ceremony he is taking part in...

The Psyker bows to the Prince in response to his declaration. "Then I thank you again. I look forward to the formal report we will give once we reach the spaceport, informing the Imperium of your deeds, and the rightness of your cause. May the God-Emperor's blessing be upon you." With that, Damine is ready to leave.

After the last of the Acolytes has received the award, she groups up with them and is also ready to depart.

The next ten minutes are a whirlwind of activity. Lt. Reginald helps the Acolytes gather their remaining gear and gently escorts them down out of the Hill toward the docks. He shows pride and humility now that he's been decorated and acclaimed by the Inquisition and his Prince. He leads the group toward the docks, "The blockcade runner you'll be on isn't the nicest ship but it get's the job done. It can have you at the Emperor's Isle in about six hours, from there you can fine a ship off the planet, it is the only spaceport on Acerage and is neutral in the civil war, mostly run by off world Imperial forces, administratum and the like."

You arrive in the docks, the area is teaming with sailors and wharf life you'd expect. There seems more than normal however, as many of the ships are stuck in the habor, and so the crews of the ship are stuck landlocked but not all ships are blockaged. Some can pay the bribes, and so some can run the embargo, and those captains make good money running guns materiale into the city for the war effort.

"There is your ship..." a greasy hulled looking wooden sailing vessel that appears decades old. It appears about ready to fall apart, and this is what you have to sail out on? The two masts wait for sails to be hoisted and the crew mills about on deck ready to depart.

Jericus shrugs and doesn't give the ship any more thought. This was what there was to get them to the spaceport. There was no use grumbling about it. Instead, he turns to Lt. Reginald. "Lieutenant," he says holding out his right hand. "Thank you for everything. It's been a pleasure working with you." He shakes the man's hand. "I'm sure you'll put the pistol and shotgun to good use." When he pulls back his right hand, he extends his left, this one holding a small leather bag. "I kept a few bullets and shells in case we run into more trouble. But here's the rest. I'll be able to get more soon without any trouble. You'll put them to better use."

Then, after the local soldier has had his chance to give his farewells, the scribe turns and walks over to the ship.
Give Reginald 20 pistol bullets and 10 shotgun shells.

Solaria moves over to the man and wraps her arms around him, giving him a bone crushing, breast squishing hug. She whispers in his ear, "It's been fun, Lieutenant... Keep up the Emperor's work. Be safe and hopefully we can send help as soon as possible." She detaches her self and takes a few steps away before turning back to the man. "Don't forget to send that cannonball back to those bastards when you get a chance." With a big smile on her face, she heads over to Jericus and gets ready to leave.

The Psyker bows slightly to the Lieutenant, giving him the respect he deserves for facing down the Xenos with them. "May the God-Emperor be with you always, and the Light of the Throne illuminate your path." He finishes his benediction and goes to board the ship. He pulls up the hood of his cloak, and more stealthily also clicks into place his iron halo. If their ship is attacked en route, he wants to be ready to give their assailants a piece of his mind. More literally than most would, at least.

Across the Rolling Seas

Post by Vardaen » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:47 pm

The Lt takes the hug with poise. "I am thankful for all your help." He nods to Jericus pleased to take the bullets and shells. "You best get on board. The Captain is a surly man, but loyal. Don't bother trying to chat him up."

The group says their final farewells to Reginald and climbs on board the blockade runner. The ships bo'sun show you were you can stay for the ride, a small area on deck or below at your desire. He is as surely as the captain must be fore he hardly offers more of a greeting than a grunt. The ship is far from empty, it seems dozens of other people have managed to book passage on the ship leaving Olrankan as well and that means crowds of the unwashed masses.

You stick together for now and soon the vessel unceremoniously leaves the dock bumping and wedging its way through a dozen other ships tied up at dock next to it. A good half an hour the ship meanders through the harbor making toward the ring of bloated cannon barges that lay seige to the city. As your ship sails toward them a few pounderously turn, taking notice of you, and bring your vessel into their cannon's firing arc. People on the ship are fearful, and hopefull, and just when you expect that you've been double crossed and the ships of the Baroness Falatrish are going to open fire on you they part. Your ship runs the blockage without a single shot being fired -- someone's paid off the right people.

You reach open seas shortly after that. The pitching and rolling of the seas is sickening. For the next six hours you are wedge among the unwashed masses as your ship rolls up and down and down and up and it is more than you can take. Only Xanthia and Jericus manage to hold in their dinner and don't find themselves throwing up over the railing, or onto the deck and their own and other's feet.

The pallor and smoke from Olrankan is fading into the distant night behind you...
