Re: Capitulus Quartus: Duplicity
"She'll be along. Just got finished up at her other job." Solaria makes ready to load up on the lighter. She looks over at Rego, "Damn, Father... got yourself a new Blessed I-Beam of Heretic Beating I see. Looks good on you."

Damien almost chokes as he only somewhat successfully stifles a bout of laughter. "I suppose even ancient Imperial artificers got bored occasionally. I could imagine waking up after a long night of drinking to find one of my coworkers had decided to re-engineer a structural support into a melee weapon. And an effective one as well. I look forward to seeing it in action."

"If it is the messiah's will, I will convert many to holy protocal", Rego states; almost allowing a slight grin to fracture his adimant facial features. "Shall we wait aboard my brethern?"...

Jericus nods hello as he sees each team member. He spares a rare smile for Solaria and a "good to see you too." Then, as she makes her comment about the bitch being active again, he adds, "it would seem so. I hope we'll get a better briefing soon." When the PDF officer approaches them about numbers and Solaria explains Xanthia's absence, he adds, "we expect her to be here soon. How long can you wait before we have to depart?"

The group is ushered onto the lighter, a transport ship that will take you from Hive Sibellus into orbit and the waiting ship there. One by one you are escorted into the ship. The PDF officer doesn't show you too much difference, another set of passengers to get to the ship. As you head into the small area of the ship and strap down you find two small data slates awaiting your arrival on a few of your seats.
The dateslates in hand, you power them up and find them of different types. One is a general data reading of the planet of Solomon, the others a letter from Inquisitor Sand, encrypted and using the Inquisition cipher.

Rego reads the data slate, forming an inner grin. The priest then discarding the slate and finishing his seating by tightening the tarnished buckle to the safety strap. "No escape this time my brethern. The emperor protects". That said he glances around quickly and then leans back...

Solaira finishes reading it along witht the others. She shakes her head, "So we're acting 'Special Conditions' on this one, no back up and no help. Should be interesting, but also means we're cut loose to do a little more damage if need be. We'll have to tread lightly. Might have to rely on my badge a bit more. What's your thoughts, boss?"
The Arbite also adds with a grin, "And congrats on being named Prime. We won't let you down..."

Jericus quickly scans the briefing data slates, then scans them again before they erase to commit them to memory. "Certainly looks that way," he says to Solaria when she talks about them being on their own. Then, when she congratulates him on being Prime, he adds, "it only means that I'll be held to a higher standard. But I feel confident with this team. We have a good variety of skills and we work well together. Given the uncertain nature of our task, that's going to be key."
Then the adept pauses and takes a few deep breaths. Finally he speaks. "Yes, I do have a few thoughts. And I'd like your comments and criticisms on them." His words are directed to the entire group. I think we need to try the same tactic we did on Iocanthus, except with a better follow through. We need a good cover story or two that we can use to explain our presence on Solomon. I have one idea that will certainly work for a small group of us, and might potentially cover us all, though that would be a strain."
"I have been cultivating an alternate identity," Jericus explains. "He's an advocate who does a fair bit of lobbying with the Administratum. I propose to land on Solomon as him, with the purpose of investigating the legalities and requirements of certain business arrangements on planet - details to be determined later. I could easily explain a bodyguard, as well as a hiver as a kind of social guide. That's Solaria and Xanthia. A tech priest could be there to help explain technical aspects of our proposed activities - perhaps some way to either weaponize or clean up their toxic waste. That explains Haxtes." He narrows his eyes. "I'm uncertain about you two, though." He looks at Rego and Damien. "You might be hard to explain. Do either of you know anything about the Departmento Munitorium? If so, that would be ideal. Otherwise, I welcome any suggestions. It may be necessary to come up with a separate cover for you two."
"In any case, that's the skeleton of my current plan. We arrive as the vanguard of an economic investor, and actually begin pursuing actual investment potentials. Give it anywhere from a day to a week to let any attention our arrival may have caused to die down, and then quietly begin our investigation." The adept looks around expectantly. "Any thoughts, comments, criticisms?"

"I'm good with the Hiver social guide. I cetainly speak that language. It would be fun and give me chance to keep an eye peeled for trouble." Solaria nods at the idea. "Maybe Damien could be your adept? Give him a slate and make it look like he's taking notes?"
