After 350 years of blizzards and crushing ice, there is a slight lull in winter's fury, as if Mulcarn is distracted by something. The Children of Kylorin the last great Archmage take up their swords and seek to bring about The Thaw and save mankind!
Winter has plagued man for the last three hundred and fifty years with no end in sight. Civilizations have fallen, and the hope of summer has long since even been a dream. Along the eastern coasts of the continent lives the Seal Tribe of the Amurite people. These hardy folks are semi nomadic moving up and down the coasts hunting seals, walrus and even whales at times.
Currently in their southern villages and camps the Seal have been trading with the Bear who live up in the mountains just west of the coast. These trading events are good for both people and ever since Kylorin came the ties between the Bear and the Seal have grown stronger each season.
Yesterday however a new bond was made as the Chieftain's Daughter Hreka has wed a member of the Wolf Tribe bonding the people together even further. The wedding was a wonderful even, with food, dancing, drinking, and merry making late into the night. The entire village of the Seal is asleep as dawn arrives. Four strangers approach the sleepy village from the north.
With dawn's light just spreading red over the Seal village four travelers are arriving from the north after a long trip through Amurite territory. Only one man is awake and outside at this hour and he isn't even of the Seal Tribe. Flint Strinker, the Bear Warrior, has woken with a full bladder, and a serious need to relieve himself he has darted out into the cold icy wind with hardly anything on hoping to duck outside, do his buisness, and duck back into the large hut where he's sleeping with the Chieftain's other Daughter Vibrika. The Bear spots the quartet of strange travelers...

Lehros scouting ahead is the first to spot the Bear Tribesman relieving himself... he blushes the white pale skin on his cheeks turning pink.
The half elf boy turns his head politely, yet keeping the silhouette of the tribesman within his peripheral. Never turn your back fool the boy speaks in a very regal tone "Forgive my intrusion"
He nods his head heavily to the others to stop, and waits patiently.
"Hardly a problem, traveler. Pity you weren't here last night; you catch me at my worst."
The young Bear warrior finishes his business, then relaces his leggings. He holds out his hands, to indicate that he now bears no weapons, and speaks in the low voice of someone more than slightly hung over.
"We are travelers sent by the Arch-mage Kylorin," the smallest of the four replies. Flint can see as he approaches that his furs - arctic fox - are smaller than is typical in the Bear clan, and are sewn together expertly. Their style is also odd - not something that is generally seen in the tribes of the Bear, Seal, or Wolf. "My name is Saeldur Finloss." He pulls off his fur cap to reveal the pointed ears of an elf.
"May we come inside?" he asks. "We have matters to discuss with the Seal Clan."
"It isn't my place to welcome you, but I can lead you to the Chieftain's house. From there we can see which way the wind blows." Elves are a rare sight among the Bear - Flint remembers seeing one, maybe, years ago with a trader's caravan. With the mention of the Arch-mage, the whole scene might be something from a tale - save, of course, for him pissing in a ditch when they arrived.
But Flint knows his legends, and he knows that elves always tell the truth, even if they have to twist it backwards, and so he will at least bear them to the house he has been a guest at.
Lehros pulls up his scarf, lowers his cowling and tries to hide behind the others... in the woods he is the leader, in the cities he wants to remain hidden.
Shame appears in his eyes, he now must hide the mark.
Flint Striker smiles at the elf. "Cold world, warm heart. Think nothing of it." He leads them into the heart of the Seal village, hoping that they bring better tidings than he himself had, half-dead with the chill and buried in ice.
As they walk through the village, lehros keeps his face hidden. He is excited... again meeting new family.
The boy keeps trying to imagine how his father looked, based on himself, his new brothers and descriptions from saeldur, maybe this next member will shead some light on his current opinion.
