Round 1 Round 1 Initiative: Flint 17.3, Goblins 16.1, Egbert 14.3, Lehros 13.4, Bugbears 13.1, Vibrika 8.2, Saeldur 6.2,
Egbert smiles at his large half brother and readies himself for an incomming attack. He waits for the smoke to clear the same as Lehros. The young half-anhel man is kneeling, an arrow on his bow, the arrow pointed at the point in the ceiling where the stairs start their decent in to the chamber more than a score feet above the floor. He waits, unable to see clear enough through the smoke, for a a shot.

More shouting is heard, gruffer voices, those of Bugbear Frostling, "Bunr it! Burn it down!" Torches begin to come down the stairs, more and more of them, a dozen perhaps all in all. The torches strike the web buring it away faster in places, the wooden handles clanging and bouncing down the stairs or off the sides. Smoke billows up the stairwell, creating a dense bank of it at the top, preventing anyone from seeing the highest reaches of the stairs, and vice versa. Vibrika's voice continues to sing, she encourages the others, bolstering your belief in yourselves to win this critcal fight.
Egbert Ready
Lehros Ready (Sempai is still away)
Bugbears hurry the burning of the web.
Vibrika Sings Inspire Courage (Connie now away for one week)

With two players away this fight should move rather fast as its just the three of you posting (Trog, Grim, Johnny) so keep your eye on the game maybe a little closer. Or if you want, which I'd rather not do so we don't loose the pacing, we could delay until the other return. I say we play on.
Saeldur watching his web burn away, knowing it won't last under the onslaught of the torches, but he has to be pleased its delayed them as long as it has giving Macalanios that much more time to work his infusion...

Sorry. I was at the bottom of the initiative count. But I didn't realize that it had come to me already.
Saeldur waits behind Vibrika and Lehros, ready to summon a burst of fire on one of the first frostlings to come down the stairs.
Ready a Fiery Burst.

Flint Striker stays in a more defensive posture, anticipation starting to eat at him.

I never figured they'd be too afraid to come down...what's the wait?

Ok Ready Actions are kinda funky, the thing you need to know is it changes your initiative, and now that its a new round you do your thing this round and your initiative changes and you don't act again this round.

Round 2 Initiative: Flint 17.3, Egbert 16.2, Lehros 16.2, Saeldur 16.2, Goblins 16.1, Bugbears 13.1, Vibrika 8.2,
The web is burning and Saeldur waits, his spell ready on his fingertips. The web finally burns out enough, and the Frostlings howl and charge down the stairs. As they begin to pour down the stairs like ants, the heroes begin to repel them. Flint bashes the first one to show its head close enough to his reach, killing it outright. The second goblin, behind it is chopped in half by Egbert's blade before it can even get halfway down the stairs. An arrow from Lehros wizzing into the hole above missing its target some how, but a fiery blast from Saeldur scorches four of the goblins before they even get halfway down the stairs! Already the Frostlings are suffering before anyone of them moves far down the stairs.

The howl of Bugbears push the rest down the steps, and as they move around and through the reach of Egbert another Goblin dies with a choped in skull. Finally the goblins position themselves on the stairs and start throwing their javelins down. One nearly slips and falls over the railing, but holds on. Two javelins find some purchase, scratching both Egbert and Flint but the rest fail to connect.

Then the Bugbears pour down after the goblin meat shields. The Bugbears avoid the attacks and the opooortunities you got against the goblins and move in under the reach of Flint and Egbert both, while even more foes remain on the floor above ready to move in.

Vibrika continues to sing, bolstering your morale as Macalanios struggles with the magic. He chants in a loud voice, his Anhel language is known only to Saeldur and Lehros, and the two can tell he's struggling with it as the energy is still building on the Moongate.
Round 2
Flint: Ready Attack
Goblins: Poor Down the Stairs:
Ready Attack (Expertise: 2) Flint: 19 Hit for 9 Dmg, DEAD
Egbert Ready: 17 Hit for 17Dmg, DEAD
Lehros: Ready: 13 Miss
Saeldur: Ready Fiery Burst: 2d6 Dmg, Ref Save: 15 Fail! For 3 Dmg to 4 Goblins
AoO: Flint 11 Miss
AoO: Egbert 19 Hit for DEAD
4: Move/Shoot Egbert 9 Miss
5: Move/Shoot Egbert 23 Hit for 2 Dmg
6: Move/Shoot Lehros 1 (Fumble: 23)
7: Move/Shoot Flint 20 Hit for 2 Dmg
Bugbears: Move/Move
Vibrika: Sing
Round 3 Initiative: Flint 17.3, Egbert 16.2, Lehros 16.2, Saeldur 16.2, Goblins 16.1, Bugbears 13.1, Vibrika 8.2

Yes that was ALL of Round 2 in one post, wierd. So now Lehros, Saeldur have a new initiative. Since Sempai is away, I'll just post him first as I resolve Egbert's actions.

Round 2 Initiative: Flint 17.3, Egbert 16.2, Lehros 16.2, Saeldur 16.2, Goblins 16.1, Bugbears 13.1, Vibrika 8.2
Flint Striker is forced to move back a few feet to bring his large axe to bear on he Bugbear. The problem is the thing can get in under his reach. So he steps back and then chops into the Bugbear's side, nearly splitting the thing in two, but not quite, the thing still lives!
Flint 5ft: Power Attack(2) BB1 23 Hit for 15 Dmg
Egbert...
Remember those with reach, can't fight those infront of them unless its unarmed, etc. Cause your weapons are too long.

Round 2 Initiative: Flint 17.3, Egbert 16.2, Lehros 16.2, Saeldur 16.2, Goblins 16.1, Bugbears 13.1, Vibrika 8.2
Egbert shouts a warcry and swings. His stroke is strong, but he catches his blade on the ceiling. He's not used to being so tall and his blade sparks along the stone ceiling crashing down at the Bugbear. The blow, even telegraphed as it is, nearly hits the Frostling, but it blocks the blow with his shield at the last moment.
Egbert: Power Attack (1): BB4 16 Miss

Missed by 1 Point, that Power Attack gotcha this time!
Lehros sets and arrow and fires at one of the goblins's on the stairs. The arrow threads through the railing and hits the Frostling in the gut killing it, a long and bloody death. He has a second arrow ready and fires, killing another Goblin, shooting it through the eye socket. "And stay down..." he manages as he gets confident in his skills.
Lehros: Rapid Shot Shoot G7: 18 Hit for 11 Dmg, DEAD/ G6: 22 Hit 7 Dmg
Saeldur...
No time now, confrence call. Remove G7, and G6 from the map.

Right now Saeldur knows he serves Macalanios better by taking frostlings down. So once again, he summons forth a fiery burst of energy to burn his enemies.
Standard Action: Fiery Burst to catch G4, G5, B3, and B4.
Let's hope I can roll better than a '3' on 2d6 this time. :?

Round 3 Initiative: Flint 17.3, Egbert 16.2, Lehros 16.2, Saeldur 16.2, Goblins 16.1, Bugbears 13.1, Vibrika 8.2
Saeldur conjurs up another fiery blast, and launches a ball of flame at the Frostlings on the stairs and the bugbears near them. The fire explodes washing over them, burning the Goblins into small crisp husks, while leaving the Bugbear's badly burned.
Saeldur: Fiery Burst: Ref Save Goblins: 14 Fail for 9 Dmg, DEAD/ Bugbears 11 Fail for 9 Dmg
The Frostling come pouring out of the ceiling, down the stairs, leaping over the railing, climbing down the outside of the stairs to land filling the chamber infront of the three non-huge people. A few goblins stop on the stairs, before moving through the reach of Egbert or Flint having seen what happened to their previous companions. They throw javelins down at from on high at Egbet, Virbika and Lehros, but all three spears miss their targets. Now seven goblins fill the area.
Goblins: More Arrive
Attack #1, Move Throw Egbet 7 Miss
#4 Move/Throw Vibrika 15 Miss
#5 Move/Throw Lehros 14 Miss
Others Move, Climb down stairs, Jump to floor
The bugbear's fight on, attacking with morningstars, they swing and club at Egbert and Flintstriker. The Paladin of Lugus is able to parry with his sword, and kick the one foe away preventing himself from being hurt. Flint Striker is not so lucky, his large size makes him cumbersome, and he's not used to it. He suffers a blow to his knee, and then another to his foot and starts to breath heavy from the pain.
Bugbears: #1 Attack Egbert 15 Miss
#2 Attack Egbert 17 Miss
#3 Attack Flint 20 Hit for 7 Dmg
#4 Attack Flint 19 Hit for 5 Dmg
Vibrika stops singing, but the effects of her song linger on afterwards. She points at the area of the goblin infestation, and tilts her head back. A single perfect, pure note rings out, and then explodes in a deafening blast of sonic concusion. When the ringing in your ears stops, six of the seven Frostling Goblins lay dead, their brains rattled so strongly in their skulls they have given up their life!!! Vibrika certainly has more powers hidden than she generally seems to use.
Vibrika: Stop Sining: Lingers 5 Rnds/ Sonic Burst: 1,2,3,4,6,7: 8 Sonic Dmg! DEADs! Wow
Macalanios is still pumping arcane power into the Moon Gate, he calls out to Saeldur "<Anhel> I can't stop it...the chain reaction is too great! I...I can redirect it, I can refocus it, draw it away from the other Moon Gates!" He weaves his arms wildly around him, "I need more time!"
Initiative: Flint 17.3, Egbert 16.2, Lehros 16.2, Saeldur 16.2, Goblins 16.1, Bugbears 13.1, Vibrika 8.2
Flint Striker...
Image
Just FYI, the Goblins were all around the base of the stairs having lept over the railing but Vibrika really did a number on them.
Flint Striker...
