Egbert just lies there, severely injured and bleeding.

In his dreams, he is walking in the lush pastures of Lugus Everwatchful, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the song of the birds, the sound of the wind and the splashing of a small brook nearby. Egbert sits down under a green tree and rests.

Ovind changes her direction immediately as the spirtual weapon fades from existence. She quickly pulls out a Junil's Heart as she kneels over the her gravely injured brother.

"Hold on," she says, pressing the stone against Egbert's forehead. She prays to her god to give her the strength to heal his wounds. For the moment, her families whereabouts are pushed to the back of her mind.

With Egbert being properly cared for, Saeldur turns his attention to the prisoners. First, he wants to make sure that they're safe from Doviello retribution. Then he turns to using his current strength to release them from any containment they're in. "Don't worry," he booms," I'm no friend of the Doviello. I'm here to help set you free."
Are the prisoners tied up or caged? If the former, a huge tree won't help. But if they're caged, Saeldur-treant can try and rip open the doors.

Released from Bondage

Post by Vardaen » Tue Jun 01, 2010 8:00 pm

Ovind leaps over the giant's body and down the rocks to slide to stop next to Egbert even as Amundi is racing forward to try and get there through the snow. The Sabertooth woman kneels and places the painted rock on Egbert's forehead. Calling on the power in the stone she infuses Egbert's head with healing power stopping the bleeding and hemorrhaging. The Paladin of the Mammoth will live, he opens his eyes blinking in pain.

Both sheets updated
Saeldur lumbers forwrad and reaches down at the cages on the sled and rips the doors off and shatters the cages releasing the slaves. The slaves cheer and shout in joy as the giant is slain and when the walking tree frees them from the cages. There are are five slaves still alive, all of them appear to be barbarian in nature, all of them woman, save for one bloody and beaten man. These are Sabertooth Tribefolk, they are the family of Ovind! Junil's grace shines of the warrior woman for her family has been saved!
Tet these are 4 family members, mother, and 3 others, plus the man is Berg who you figured was dead after he sent you running off to get help, but he is on the verge of death by the look of him.

"Ovind," Saeldur calls out from the broken cages. "One of the prisoners is gravely wounded. If Junil will grant you more healing, he will need it."

Øvind looks up at the massive tree and leaves Egbert for the time being. She rushes over to the cage, jumping over the dead jailer and knees above her adopted father. "Berg!" she yells, looking at the others quickly before placing the Heart of Junil upon his forehead.

Øvind takes off hearing the voices of her family and seeing them jumping out of the cages. She leaps the corpse of the giant, and hurries across the ice to come to a sliding kneel before her adopted father crying out his name. She places the stone on his head and channels the healing power through it into him. He coughs and chokes on some blood but his eyes flutter open. "Øvind?" His eyes flutter open then closed again as he passes out once more.

The other slaves, freed now, stand stunned a moment looking at the massive tree, and then seeing Øvind snap out of it. The elder matron of the tribe calls out to the others, "Take these barbarian's weapons, arm yourselves my children." The young women instantly start to scour the camp taking up bows, clubs and spears of the fallen Doviello. Grabbing up fur cloaks and other garments to protect themselves from the cold and from combat you finds the Sabertooth women are suddenly ready for battle. The elder woman among them, Thjodhild, Ovind's mother, comes to kneel at her second husband's side. "Daughter, you have saved us, saved him." She choked down her emotions refusing to show them through her bruised and bloody face (obviously she did not go quietly to the torture of the Doveillo.). "I knew you would save us Ovind, Junil protect us all." The younger woman circle in behind their mother looking down at Berg and over at the rest of you.

"Mother," she says, "It was not only eye, but these others." She waves a hand at those she has shared battle with. "They are, as I am told, the Wise One's other offspring." He pauses at the elf, now tree, "Except he, an elf, wise, and friend to Kylorin." Øvind asks, "Family-Father, can you stand, walk?" She frowns, "It would be best to get you to the Elk soon."

"If he cannot walk," Saeldur says from above, "I can easily carry him." The towering treant leans down a bit closer to get a better look. "In fact, if it would not injure his pride or his standing in your tribe, it might be best were I to carry him regardless."

Seeing that the wounded are being taken care of, Lehros keeps watch out for other Doviello war bands that might attack them. Lightfooted and nimble, he circles the group.
Although he's curious about his half-sister and the Sabertooth women, and not sure what to make of their warlike attitude, his usual shyness takes over. He ducks into his heavy cloak and cowl when Ovind indicates him to be one of Kylorin's children and only occasionally glances back to the small group of warriors.
