Chapter 7 - A Return from Darkness

[Grimbold]

Egbert strikes hard at the creatures skull, and then again and again....

[Vardaen]

Like a petulant Child Egbert flies down to the Dracolich's skull and slams Godslayer into it over and over and over again. Each strike seems to do more damage than the last. After a good half dozen strikes the massive dragon's skull shatter into a million pieces and a bony cloud of dust. There is a great shudder of magic and a nova of power bursts out of the corpse of the creature knocking all those around it on their arses from the impact with the wave of magic.

All is silent for moment, then the sounds of fighting in the rest of the city filter into your ears. The battle rages on in many forms all throughout the Valanhel City.

"Well then ... I guess that settles that. Good thinking, Saeldur. Looks like you were vindicated after all." Ovind roughly wipes some of the undead dust off her clothing, wrinkling her nose in disgust. "Now the big question is, do we continue trying to hit whatever we see that looks the scariest? Make a fight for the City? Or do we try to draw the attackers away?"

[Shurijo]

Ronk kicks at the dust piles sending it up into the air. As he stands ready for the creature to use unnatural sorcery to re-animate itself, he listens to the others.

[Grimbold]

Egbert gets up and catches his breath. He hands the Godslayer back to Ovind. "Thank Lugus, I think we did it!! What now?"

[Trogdor]

"It's up to the elders of the city as to what the Valanhel do," Saeldur replies. "But we must tell them that the dracolich is destroyed so that they can make their decisions wisely. What we do next depends on what they decide. If they elect to stay, then we stay and help defend the city. If they elect to continue evacuation, then we need to use the Moongate before they have to destroy it."

[ManWithDoor]

Ovind nods. "You're the best acquainted with where the Elders might be at this moment of crisis. Lead the way, Saeldur."

[Shurijo]

Ronk turns and waits for Saeldur to respond to Ovind's suggestion. The barbarian doesn't believe the Valanhel will welcome or thank the tribe, but he understands their leaders and elders should know that the monstrous beast has been defeated so they can plan their defense of the city accordingly.

[Grimbold]

"Ok, then we need to find these elders." Egbert says. He has his usual sword drawn and his shield readied, prepared to fight an oncoming enemy at any moment. He looks around nervously... "Where do we go?"

[Vardaen]

The group is planning their next move when a horde of Frostlings sweeps into the crumbling square. About a dozen or two of the smaller snow goblins are accompanied by half a dozen bugbears. The clash is swift and decisive, your skills and weaponry are far superior to these rank and file foes and you butcher them without too much effort.

Yet you can see things are getting bad, even with the Dracoliche's defeat the forces of Mulcarn have penetrated to the very center of the city.
