The Dead are Done
Ovind takes her rest as soon as she can, volunteering for a later watch. After having channeled so much divine might, her body and her soul are exhausted. She is glad that she was able to save the life of Hanak's friends, but many have died this day and it weighs heavily upon her. She has become the worshiper of a goddess of life and healing. She wishes she could have done more.

The Dead are Done
Ronk takes his rest and waiting for his watch. His dreams continue to be plagued with visions of his former life and tribe, and the slaughter of his tribe. Toss and turning, the barbarian sleeps as well as usual.

The Dead are Done
The heat radiates off of him as Hanak as he talks to Egbert. Much of his Common is returned by use. He tells of his birth, to the caste of Scribes, and his indifferent enthusiasm for the work of books and runes. He tells of his mutation, the awakening to a mastery of fire beyond anything known to Carrac. And he tells of the Preservers, the druidic rulers of the dwarves, and the Whiteguard, who defend them from Frostlings.

A Night of Rest
The caverns nearby offer a fine place to rest. You set up camp, build a fire with timber found among the few trees present, and pitch your tents and set your sleeping gear out. Everyone has some way to deal with the deadly cold, and the caves themselves offer shelter from the wind and the snow that lightly starts to fall. You spend the night with no more dangers assaulting you. Wolves are heard from far off, and a few raptors come down to pick at the offal left on the battle field of snow outside the caverns.
When the dawn comes you are refreshed, and your powers recharged you cast your cold weather protections once more and look out across the frozen lands.

A Night of Rest
Egbert listens to Hanak curiously, asking for details or repeating if he does not understand something and can't help starting to like and respect Hanak more and more. Being chosen by a god and finding himself with strange powers is something he can relate to.
In the morning, the warrior of Lugus stretches, prays to his god as the sun rises and then goes through a short series of swordfighting moves and stances to hone his skill. Then he turns to his companions. "So, where do we go now? Can we meet your people, Hanak?"

A Night of Rest
Ovind listens to Hanak's saga, hearing some familiar story beats. When he finishes, she speaks up. "Do your people have tales of a mighty sage traveling through your lands? He went by many names, but among us he was known as Kylorin. He sired many offspring, many of whom have united to fight the god of Winter."

A Night of Rest
When Rock awakens, he walks outside to stare out over the frozen lands pondering something that seems to be deeply troubling the barbarian or at keeping his mind somewhere else. After a while, the barbarian returns inside the cavern looking for food.

A Night of Rest
Hanak is slow to rise, shaking off the slumber. To the inquiries of the Humans, which this time yesterday were an extinct mythic people and now are blooded comrades with ambitions of slaying a god, he responds.
"The Council of Preservers will want to know of your quest, and of the fire Giants Mulcarn has seduced to his service. We must go to Carrac.
"Kylorin Loretaker? An old tale. They say he mastered the Runes as the Great Winter came, and wandered into the waste to search for a land where Summer never ended. And you say he has children?"

A Night of Rest
Ovind gathers up her personal supplies, ready to move out with the rest. "Indeed he had many, spread through many lands and tribes. He has called to his blood to join his struggle against Winter, and we respond." He looks to the others. "Perhaps your Council of Preservers will know more of what Kylorin did amongst your people. And they must be informed of what has come to pass. Lead on, friend Hanak."

A Night of Rest
Egbert nods. "Yes, Ovind is right. He has children. He is still trying to end this winter." Egbert is ready to go meet the dwarf elders.
