"Sir, I think that we should get some torches and brands ready. If they break down the barricades, or get through the windows, we might be able to douse them with the alcohol, and then set fire to them." Fern starts doing what the Marshal ordered.

Durnic looks at Dal, "Grab that side of the table." He takes a table and slides it toward the door, he plans to pile up as many tables, stacked atop each other (one flipped upside down), in front of every door on the first floor that leads to the outside not forgetting the back door or ktichen door or any other door.

Dal shuffles around the Inn looking for items to board the windows and doors. When Durnic calls to him, he hurries over and helps move the table. He tries to think of covering every window and door and follows behind the others to make sure nothing is missed. Lastly, he asks, 'œCan they climb?'

Chaster's head comes up off the bar as the shouting begins. He looks around with wide eyes.
"What have you done Durnic? How many?" Chaster has moved the harder alcohol's away from common view. He is not letting them get un fettered access to his private stocks at the moment.
"Torches? There are torches and oil in my store....." Chaster indicates the closed attachment to the Inn. He fumbles with his keys, finding the right one and tossing it to dal. "Your idea go get some."

Touravic looks at Chaster and barks, "Shut your mouth and go get the torches and oil. If they get through, you won't have to worry about your loss of profit, only your loss of life! Go you snake!" The Marshal moves quickly to help board up the inn. Within a few moments everyone does just that, with or without Chaster help, and certainly without his permission. Tables are moved, crates, etc, to barricade the locked doors. No one knows if they can climb or not, but they do not look very agile.

Soon after, a constant banging comes from all sides and angles around the inn, moaning and groaning accompanying them. The doors seem to withstand the banging, but the glass shatters outside, the shutters getting slammed afterward ..

Durnic is hammering in boards with his bloody hammer until the zombie arrives. The smashing of the glass causes the women upstairs to scream. That only reminds Durnic of what he is fighting for. "Everyone pair up around the windows. One on each side, keep them flanked and beat them down before they get inside." He hurries to one window, the shutters starting to crack. His hammer is held in both hands, and the moment the shutters break he will pound on the skull of the zombie outside who tries to get inside. "And careful with that fire, if this place goes up in flames, we can't escape!"

Dunstan sets up at a window as Durnic suggests.

"There aren't enough of us for all of the windows here... One person to a window seems a better idea. We can move if need be."

He pauses a moment as the shutters in front of him rattle and the rest of the glass is broken out of his window.

"Should someone run upstairs and take a peek out of a 2nd floor window to see what is going on? Might be a better view, and they can call down what they see..."

Chaster returns with nails and hammers, both in good supply in the store as well. His supplies might aid in how long they can hold out the dead. He cringes as windows break......
He wipes sweaty palms out as he starts opening bottles of oil and then starts ripping off straps of cloth and stuffing them into some of the bottles hoping they would soak enough oil to make a small grenade.
"These might help......

Dal comments, 'œThey seemed to have lost a little coordinate. Maybe they are brain dead, too. Let's hope so, if they get smart enough to use tools or ladders, then we'll be in trouble.'

He scans the room and then asks, 'œDo you have a cellar, Chaster?' He hopes that the Inn keeper has a cellar where he stores the wine or other supplies at. If so, then he continues on, 'œThat would make a better secure place to keep the families. Then if they break through, we can dash into the cellar and hopefully they will be gone by daybreak.'

Fern responds to that, saying, "Or, we can die in the cellar when they break through its door." Fern realises how rude this is, and then says, "Sorry. I guess actually we should see the strength of the door."
