Prelude: A seven-pointed star

It is the year 3010 of the Third Age in Middle-earth. One after another, ancient horrors awake, called by their master, Sauron, the Lord of the Rings. This is a time when heroes are needed, to protect the Free People and keep the evil at bay. This is high fantasy in a setting where there is low obvious magic using the HARP system.

Vardanil hides in the bushes and soon sees first a dwarf, then a human following him on the path. The dwarf is carrying a big hammer, the human is armed with a bow.

Remaining hidden the Ranger watches the dwarf and man, noticing their weapons, and the way they move about the clearing. He doesn't move, or hardly even breath watching and waiting at this time to see if they are the bandits returned to the scene of the crime, or if they are just unlucky travelers with good timing. Straining his ears he tries to hear what they are saying.

"It seems no one is around, they probably already left the place" Interested by the ancient standing stone the man puts his bow away and then walks around the stone to take a closer look.
Vardanil hides
Total: 80, others need 95 to spot him.
Human: total: 69, fail.
Dwarf: total: 74. fail.

Listening: Vardanil rolls a total of 54+33=87, success.

"Bah, I don't buy this." The dwarft then complains. "Somebody was up here recently, Unless they can fly their still here. Probbly waitin' to ambush us..."
The dwarf starts walking around the top looking for signs of someone leaving via another path, or someone scaling down one of the sides.
He comes straight towards Vardanil.

From out of nowhere Vardanil leaps from his hiding place and stalks right toward the dwarf. "There are many strange things in these lands Master Dwarf, and flying foes would not be out of the question." The man standing there is tall and lanky, drapped in a brownish green robe, a longsword hangs on his belt with black and silver tracery on it, a longbow on his back unstrung inside its quiver. He could have ambushed the dwarf no doubt but instead he strides forward, no weapon in his hand, and stops a few feet from the two. "Few come to this place, let alone one of your stature Master Dwarf, what say you to your trespass?"
