"We'll speak on the surface, Gizzik," Garruk says, with no hint of compromise in his voice.

"Lets leave this statue to its duty."

Back to the Trogg Caves

Post by Vardaen » Sun Jan 24, 2010 5:46 am

The goblin gives a mournful sigh, "Ouuhh....alright boss. Shame." The little goblin falls in line and leaves the room to join the others at the bottom of the ravine. One by one the group exits the room, Archeras the statue custodian of the titan ruins of Bael Modan does not attack you or offer salutations as you leave.
You can assume you climb the wall if you want without falling, etc. Go a head and explore the void of enemies caves above for loot if you like.

We're gonna need a Mon-Tage! I'm jumping right to the part where Grim says...
"We'd might best see what more the Spiders took... then be on our way to the caravan... A quick trip down their cobwebbed corridor with a torch, what's your preference, Boss?"

Turning to Garruk for confirmation, Grim points southeast.
Southeast on this map...

Addercop ! Lazy Lob!

The Orcs, Tauren and Goblin make the climb up the steep ravine, the gates of Bale Modan remain behind them unexplored, yet they are not unknown anymore. One by one the Talonbreaker reach the top of the long climb and hurry through the dead Trogg chamber and on to the passage with the stalagmites and stalagtights. The tunnel to the southeast is where the spiders came out of and Grim offers his suggestion of travel. A torch is produced, taken from the Trogg's camp, and soon Grim is leading the group down the cobweb filled passage.

The cave becomes gradually larger and there are many nooks and crannies along the walls and ceiling. Far to the southeast, cobwebs cover the walls and ceiling. There are two large mounds of webbing upon the floor in the southeast portion of the cave. A dozen tiny spiders scamper and skurry about, but they are no threat anymore and flee when you come near them. One particularly slow spider finds itself turned into a gooey stain on the floor under Grim's iron boot. *Squich*

Gizzik moves forward as the light enters the cave, "Looks all clear, we keeled them all already." Rubbing his hands together the goblin points at the wounds. "Victims?"

Lugar nods and moves forwar, with his Orc Claws he slices open the mounds of webs, which are really corpses wrapped in blankets of spidersilk and cobwebs. The first mound turns out to be a rather fresh looking Trogg corpse. The poor creature wandered too closer to the passage and was poisoned, and then dragged back here and wrapped up to get tender before it would be eaten. The Trogg has nothing on his dead body that interests any of you.

The second mound of webbing is then sliced open by Lugar as Grim stands over it with the torch showing the desicated corpse of a Night Elf! The corpse has had all its fluids stucked dry making it appear sort of like a mummy. It does not however rise from the dead and attack you thank Thrall. The corpse is still dressed with its various weaponry and all of it appears to have been well preseved inside the web cocoon.
I'm just going to open a loot thread for this. However on the body you find.

Masterwork Studded Leather Armor
Two Masterwork Moon Glaives
A pair of leather and silk gloves covered in magical runes. (Obviously Magical)
Three Potions (Blue)
One Potion (Red)
Pouch with three small gemstones
Pouch with assorted coins
Gizzik jumps up and down, "Jackpot!"

"Ah, great!" Garruk explains as they mop up in the caves. "Something tangible to show for this! Lets gather it up and head out. Then we'll talk about our friend in the ruins..."

Ogbar nods at Grim's statement. He looks over the gear that was wrapped up, considering what is there and what might be of use to him. "Best we get out of here as soon as possible, I think."

"Ugh... These midnight pansies may ally themselves with the Horde, but they're still a bunch of fops...even if they're dead fops like this one."

Regarding the dessicated husk and its convenient potion holding capabilities, Grim's disgust wanes for a moment as he considers the possibilities of the potions.

"Though... if we're drinking Koomis later, we might need one of them blue ones as a chaser. Let's bundle this stuff up and get on to the caravan... nothin' more ta see here."

With some quick stuffing of stuffs into various bags (and tying one of the blue potions into the carry strap on the Koomis Skin for easy access), Grim starts back toward the cave enterance, ready to get back out into the Kolkar Wastes.

"I hear there's been troubles in Ashenvale, Grim. These night-elves may not be our allies for much longer," Garruk remarks as they loot the dead Sentinel and pack the strange vials away for the journey to the surface. "That's politics, though. We should be more concerned about these potions, and that thing down below. Lets make camp and then we'll discuss what's down there."

The group loots the corpse, and on the way to the surface Gizzik suggests the kitchen be double checked as well. So a quick stop in the kitchen area turns up mostly looted items from travelers as well as some local game killed and cooked (burnt now) by that ever elusive Trogg Cook. You do come across one small quartsized wooden container, much like a mini keg, that is marked with Tauren tribal symbols on it. Ogbar quickly declares it Tauren Thunder Wine, made from the fermented blood of crag wolves near Thunder Bluff. Its as potent as it is toxic, and only the bravest and most masculine of Tauren warriors drink the stuff. It would make Dwarven whiskey look like mother's milk. There is enough there for one *really* good night of drinking for the Talonbreakers. The keg is packed up and the group climbs back to the surface.

Ogbar grins. "Ah, great stuff there!"

He then makes the rest of the trek back to the surface, pointedly ignoring discussion about the statue-dude before finding a campsite and getting setup for the night.

Only at that point does he broach the topic again. "What did you guys think of that stone statue guardian? I'm thinking that there is no better defender for our find at the moment."
