Toda Hiromatsu Chapter 1: Enter the Dragon

From reading the various books at the temple one thing popped into Toda's mind after seeing men in camoflauge.

"Are these men from the military?" Toda thought out loud. He started looking for signs of who these men might be, even though Toda could only go off of the descriptions he had read in books of some age. Guns seemed to be the most ubiquitous sign of an army so
Toda scanned the area for signs of weaponry.

Jemeri squats back down, unsure of what to do. "they are not our army, these guys are foreign for sure. "

[Galen]

"If this is where the boarman tracks led then these men must know something. They don't look dangerous. Perhaps it is best for you to talk to them."

Toda still feels hesitant about interacting with humans. Jemeri seems smart and Toda can not see any reason why he shouldn't be able to garner help from these new men.

Jemeri, stands feels renewed from toda's words. He again pulls off his hat wiping his brow the sweat rolling down his face, "Its so hot today" he stumbles a little, "whew... too much for this old man today"

he gives the large komodo a warm smile, His heavy accent giving his words a rhythmic tone "when I was a child, there was a book my grandmother read me a story about a boy who had a dragon as a friend" he continues a big smile and walks out into the opening waving a the men.

"Hello!" he waves heading towards the men.

He gets out of earshot from today and stands talking to the men, they seem friendly and point down the mountain the way the two came, Jemeri points up the mountain and again they point down.

Jemeri extends his hand to thank the men and then it happens... one of the men takes the butt of his rifle and slams it into jemeri's neck, dropping the old man to the ground.

The other man pulls out a large radio phone and is talking, Toda cant hear the words, but can guess. The man with the radio nods to one of the others who draws a very jagged knife and prepares to stab the unconscious Jemeri!

[Galen]

Toda, horrified by what he sees, charges out of the foliage toward Jemeri.

"NO! STOP! You don't understand." Toda screams as he runs forward.

The large lizard bursts from the bushes yelling in his growly voice.

ok you get init as you have zanshin and the 'scientists' are not prepared. Basically at this point all you can do is choose a style and run into combat, you will be in combat range next round.

the lead 'scientist' speaks to the others "look at that specimen, it actually learned a language. We must sample it, try to take it alive"

With that the men all pull a strange rifle from their backs, and put a load it with what looks like a dart.

Toda moves up to the men and trys to slap the rifle away from one of them.

"Why would you do that! He was not going to hurt you. What is all this?" Toda continues screaming.

Toda charges into battle and closes the gap on one of the 'scientists' and falls into a very soft loose stance ready to fight. He reaches for the strange rifle but the man is too quick.

The two fire on toda the lead man reaches for his sub machine gun. The first nearly dart sails into Todas arm, he leaps on one leg and spins carefully dodging it, as he regains his center of gravity, he squats in an extremely low stance doging the second.

The men look surprised as the lizard moves like a cat, they again prepare their weapons. The leader his sub machine gun in his right hand draws a large machete with the other... toda prepares his counter attack.

[Galen]

"Why must you attack us!" Toda yells continuing on his tirade.

Focusing more on defense Toda prepares for attacks for his adversaries. While keeping his eye on the other men Toda sends a fist at the closest target to draw attention away from Jemeri. With the threat of those guns Toda dare not let his guard down.

remember it takes one melee attack to close the distance before you can attack.
