Amateur Career Management for Moe Zaw Hein

Run by 3rd-I

10/15/08

Status: Amateur
Record: 0-0-0

Moe Zaw Hein is an immigrant from Burma. He is living on scraps, and his only career has ever been fighting. A Lethwei fighter, Moe Zaw looks to what he can get into in the US. He has been training at a gym in LA run by a Burmese man that teaches Bando, but lets Moe Zaw work out there.
Technically Amateur MMA is not approved by California, but I'm not worried about that.

Moe see's no point in fighting lower down the bill than he has to. Fortune favours the brave.

He opts to take the headline match against Soto.

Training

Post by TetNak » Thu Oct 16, 2008 3:17 am

Moe decides to take the fight against the more accomplished fighter, although not the headliner. He has to start somewhere. Wins and losses aren't all that important at this stage anyway. The important thing is getting experience and giving it your all.

In the weeks before the fight Moe cannot find anything out about his opponent and must train his normal regiment.
In the future, you can scout an opponent, and therefore tailor your training to defeat their strengths
Moe does not have to cut any weight, as he is fighting a Welterweight, his natural weight class.
No modifiers for ST or FP
During training, Moe decides to ...

A) Focus on Cardio (Temporary Boost in FP by 1)
B) Focus on Strength (Temporary Boost in ST by 1)
C) Focus on Skills (Temporary Boost to 1 known skill of your choice)

Moe figures his throws and grappling skills are going to count for a lot more in MMA than they did in Lethwei. He's going to end up fighting on the ground at some point! Maybe someone in the gym knows some Naban, or Bando grappling, and will spar with him for a bit.

Moe trains hard. He works particularly on this throws and clinches. He knows his striking is solid, and decides to make sure his grappling is as well. He knows that once it hits the ground, he still might have issues ...

Think I'll hang on to the XP for now and save it for a strength point. I want to make the concept of a clinch fighter or dirty boxer work, and I struggled in that last fight due to lack of strength.

I realised fairly early on that I couldnt force him to stay in the clinch. I switched my plan to working the torso, in the hope that I could fatigue him and get enough of a strength advantage to make it work, but the rolls didnt really go my way.

Moe Zaw Hein is given one opportunity. He can come back and fight again, but it is going to take a few months to recover after that slugfest.
