Act 6 - The Pallid Plague

The Age of Magic is ended, Bhall, the Goddess of Fire, has succumbed to the whispers of Agares and fallen into Hell. Her worshipers and creations driven mad, and fire, which has been a powerful ally to man, has turned against him. Each good god was charged with the opposition of an evil god. Bhall was responsible for balancing Mulcarn, the God of Winter. Finding himself unopposed Mulcarn has broken The Compact and moved into Creation.

Creation was on the verge of another open war between the gods, that which they had outlawed with The Compact. To keep that from happening a deal was struck and the gods agreed that one god would enter Creation to challenge Mulcarn. That was Sucellus, the God of Nature. The two gods battled across the face of Creation, entire civilizations still recovering from the Burning Skies that marked the fall of Bhall were destroyed by their power. In the end Sucellus was killed and Mulcarn remained.

The Eternal Winter has begun...

Dreams is momentarily taken aback by the snow ball attack, bu then drops to her haunches, makes a snowball of her own and hurls it back at the children. She is sure she has better aim, but suspects her heavy armor may put her at a disadvantage.

Drak grins as he looks down at the snow underneath him. He lets out a modest warcry as he begins rolling snowballs with magic and levitating them up to his hands to throw.
Prestidigitation to roll snowballs, Mage Hand to pick them up, Wage War. :D

Because that is how Sorcerers do things.

The snowball fight is on. Drak uses his magic to the shouts of 'cheater' from the kids as they pelt you with snowballs. Dreams reacts well, and joins the fight, her aim is good enough to his an 8 year old in at a few dozen yards. Everyone is tossing snowballs back and forth and just when you think you have the upper hand Edgrin joins in from a flanking position popping a good shot at Celevan with a hearty laugh.

After about half an hour everyone is spent, the kids call for surrender as you overwhelm their snow fort. Laughter and joy spreads, and you have forgotten for a time your troubles here in Falcon's Hollow. Edgrin shouts, "Hot Chocolate for everyone inside!" and the kids and adults pile into the house dumping a treasure horde's worth of mittens, hats, scarves, and boots on the foyer floor.

Nessa is laughing with Jurin Kreed (Thludrin's son), and Griet is smiling once more as she talks with Savram Vade. There are half a dozen kids in the house who you don't know, locals, friends of the kids.

Edgrin hands out the hot mugs and inhales satisfied. "So how did it go with the fey? You save them like you saved us again? You know word has gotten out that it was you who found the cure. Talk is starting about making one of you the new Magistrate since Vamros Harg is dead. Not sure Kreed is going to like that."

"Thank you, Edgrin," says Dreams. When she hears that people want to make one of them magistrate, she says, "No I imagine Kreed wouldn't like it. Nor would I imagine whoever has the job would actually like it--I suspect it would be a lot of thankless work. But I imagine it would make the town a better place in the long run." As she says this, she realizes her sense of the long run would be much greater than that of Falcon's Hollow human population. In her long run, she would be dealing with their children, assuming she remained here. The thought saddened her some.

After the snowball fight, Drak makes it top priority to find clothing better suited to this increasingly colder weather.
Drak would like to buy Cold Weather Clothing. Sheet Updated. It can't be too hard to find that.

They have it at Jak-a Napes, no problem to buy it along with things like snow shoes, etc. However they are super running low, and its about time yo guys take that supply run south for the town! Next chapter!
Edgrin shrugs, "I wouldn't want to see another one of Kreeds bootlicks take that position. It would be pretty terrible again to have him control most of the town. Maybe we can find someone suitable that does not go running off all the time." He winks at Dreams and sips his hot coco with a big smile on his face.

The kids are off playing in the living room laughing and having fun.

Dreams nods at Edgrin. "Yes, it would be awful if Kreed had his thumb on the magistrate. We can at least support the townsfolk if they choose to nominate someone fair and independent of Kreed."
I don't know what you have in mind, V, but Dreams would accept being magistrate if it was offered to her. That could make for interesting new adventures--or interfere with her ability to participate in others, depending on what you have planned.

Edgrin "He had it on Harg, turned him into his puppet. We'll have to act reasonably fast on this one. Either this town won't have one or Kreed will appoint one. Either way it means more power for Kreed." He keeps his voice down as Jurin, Thuldrin's son, is just in the other room. Jurin's a good kid, that much you know, and he seems to look up to you, but what nonsense Kreed fills his head with can't be good for the boy.

"Well any how, what's your next move? Have time for dinner?"

Dreams says, "Dinner is probably a good idea, the way we've been pushing ourselves. Then maybe we can go have a word with Laurel and Baleson about having a proper election or nomination for the magistrate--however it's handled--with a decent candidate available who won't be under Kreed's thumb." She looks at the others to see if they want to get involved with this or stay out. Kreed probably couldn't hate her more than he already did, but the others might not want to alienate him further if they could avoid it.

Drak sits by silently. He doesnt really have much to add to all these politics. It is the reason he left his tribe in the Malakim Desert.
