Prelude: Discovery

Over thirty years ago humans found a cache of ancient Prothean technology on the planet Mars. Studying and adapting this technology, humankind has managed to break free of the solar system and has established numerous colonies and encountered various extraterrestrial species within the Milky Way galaxy. Utilizing alien artifacts known as Mass Relays, the various space-faring races are able to travel instantly across vast stretches of the galaxy. Within the game, humanity has formed the Human Systems Alliance, one of many independent bodies that make up the collective of "Citadel space".Run by DM Tet'Nak

Mordin nods to Ral. "If-Alliance-allows-it, can-perform-the-surgery-whenever-ready." He pauses, "Of-course, there-are-risks, my-research-was interrupted-by-my ... incarceration."

Kinney looks from the quarian and salarian to Grissom. She doesn't like the idea that he has promised something that might not be authorized when they're aboard the military space station. But she doesn't know the details of their deal.

Grissom stands up as the Captain prepares to leave the room. "Thank you sir, I believe we can handle it from here. We can find the guards so that we can be escorted to our quarters."

As Captain Anderson leaves, Grissom turns back and collects the artifact from the Quarian. Looking to the Salarian and Quarian, he replies, "I do not know how much time the operation will entail, but there may be medical facilities aboard the ship that can assist. Otherwise, the Alliance facilities back at command should suffice."

Grissom pulls up his omni-tool and scrolls back to the original message. After a few button clicks, he sends off a purchase order request so that the Quarian and Doctor will have a unique financial identifier to enter into the medical bay to requisition the costs and time of the medical supplies.

"For the rest of us, I think we can grab some food in the mess and get some rest. Once we land, you can figure out where you want to go from there."

"You're the boss," Kinney replies after Grissom adresses them. "But I was just recently reinstated and promoted, so I don't even know if my promotion is still standing since I never attended the OCS. It was Commander Falcon on Horizon who did it and send Captain Tai and me to help you out. I wouldn't be too surprised if it's not valid. Just like I applied and was refused the few times before I left the Systems Alliance."

She turns to leave the conference room and mutters something angrily to herself about her father. "I doubt that they have liquor in the mess."

Grissom replies back to Kinney, "Well, I don't think I'm the boss any more. We're just a bunch of soldiers getting ready for our next assignment."

"I'm sure the work you did with this mission will help with your promotion. Without your help and the others, the Alliance couldn't have pulled off this mission. We were under staffed going into this mission with just me trying to infiltrate Omega and extract the item. The complications with Aria proved to be more time and resource consuming than I had anticipated."

"It's been great serving with everyone and I hope that we cross paths again. Our intelligence command might need to use your services again in a similar capacity. I will keep you up to date on anything that I learn about missions if you are looking for work."

The Trip to Arcturus Station

Post by TetNak » Tue Nov 16, 2010 8:46 am

Everyone retires for a long deserved rest. The trip isn't a terribly long one, but the non-humans find themselves under guard at all times. Only Lt. Grissom and Lt. Kinney have any sort of freedom what so ever, and even they are not allowed into the sensitive areas of the ship.

Eventually the ship begins docking procedures for the Arcturus Station ...
The end of the chapter has come! I'll be giving you more details about how we'll proceed and character level ups soon
