That's fine
Holt drops by his house before setting off to Dumas and tells everyone what he's doing. He says goodbye to his wife and child, informing them the reverend might drop by from time-to-time.

It takes two days, but Holt reaches Dumas without any trouble. Its been a long time since he's been out on the trail ...

He's dirty and his knee is kinda achy ass he rides into town. The town itself is smaller than Amarillo, but seems just as busy ...

Holt slows his horse down as he arrives at the edgeod Dumas. Looking around he notices any signs or posts about local laws, he wouldn't want to ride in armed to a town where guns are outlawed. Moving forward he heads down the main drag toward the local saloon. Generally easy enough to find, he listens for the muisc, the drunks, and the bar fighting. He moves with care atop his horse, once rubbing his knee, but trying to ignor it now that he's in town.

Patting the neck of his horse he comments to it, "I need a bath."

As Holt enters town, immediately something happens that catches his eye. A man walks out of a nearby building, staggering badly.

The man isn't drunk, in fact, he has blood running down the front of his shirt and vest. Blood squirts out of his throat, which has been sliced. The man stumbles to the ground and falls dead at another man's feet.

There is no one behind him, and everyone in the street is shock, gasping and beginning to clamor. The building he exited is the grain warehouse.
