Prelude: A Bounty with Pleasure

Post by TetNak » Thu Jun 03, 2010 7:25 pm

Tombstone, Arizona
July 6th, 1880

The desert sun is setting in the horizon as Martin's horse clip-clops into down. The roads are still full with people going this way and that. People head to saloons, brothels, opium dens, and even the local theater. What a place.

Last week Martin picks up a bounty on Kyle McClain. He was a simple cattle rustler that used to run with those that had put a bullet in maw and paw. Martin know who did it, specifically, and it wasn't him. But if he could lead them to those that did, well, that made this trip worth it.

Problem is, Kyle's looking to join up with the Cowboys, a bunch of no-gooders, a bunch of 'em. If he gets in good with them, he will be just about untouchable, or touchable, with a side of dead for Martin. Any place seems as good as any to start looking. There's saloons all up and down the road. Drunk people tend to talk the most.

Martin sighs. "Well Blanche, time to go see if we can gather up some scum." Martin clicks his tongue and rides into town. As Martin rides into town he notices the makes note of all the saloons and decides to try the first one. Upon reaching the hitching post. Martin dismounts and ties Blanche to the hitching post. "Its ok girl, I'll be right back."

Martin walks into the saloon, the swinging doors and takes in the commotion of the room.

Thanks! Hope things go smoothly! :)

Martin turns into the saloon, pushing past the simple swinging doors and into the hub-bub. This saloon, The Oriental is slammed with people. The bar itself is completely full, people are dancing, a Faro game is going, and a poker game is going.

At least Martin will have plenty of people to question. The bounty hunter does notice many men wear red sashes, which is supposed to mark a Cowboy. He can only hope Kyle hasn't made friends with them yet.

Martin says a little prayer as he enters the lions den. With as many Cowboys here it might be a little difficult getting the information Martin seeks. "No better place then the barman to start," Martin thinks to himself. Martin then walks up to the barman and orders a whiskey.
Is the barman also wearing a red sash?

The bartender isn't wearing a sash. He seems a more respectable sort. When Martin approaches, zigzagging through several others as he does so, the man looks up.

"Hello there," he says, with a strange European accent. "What can I do you for?"

"Shot of whiskey please," Martin asks. Martin starts scanning the bar for any potential targets to try to get some information out of. "Damn, so many of them here. Really hope that Kyle is an idiot," Martin thinks to himself.

The bartender grabs a bottle and pours it into a shot glass. "Here ya go, fifty bits, or do you want to run a tab?" He seems oblivious to the man's words as he talks to himself.

Pays the bill and downs the shot. Turns around to see if there's any drunkards in the saloon. Also taking a good long look around the crowd to see if Martin can spot the bounty that he's been hunting. "I've been hunting this low life too long for him to slip away from me now."

Drunkards? Who isn't drunk is a better question. People are staggering this way and that, some talking way to loud, Martin thinks he might be one of the few sober people in here. Something does catch his eye though, a name wearing a badge. He's an old feller, leaning sleepily against the bar and simply scanning the room.
Since you basically are a little over your $ from what you spend with your wealth level. I'm going to give you 40 bucks to spend. -.50 for the shot

I thought starting wealth for T6 is $10,000. Struggling is only half that. So taking into account what is on my character sheet I should still have at least 1,500 to spend.
"Ah, someone of the law, hopefully, maybe he'll know where Kyle is," Martin thinks. Martin then starts weaving around the people trying to get to the man with the badge. Upon arriving to the sleepy person Martin tries to get a better look at the badge to make sure he's of the law.
