Nice. I like Wargie.
Cole raises his rifle and aims at the man's back. Only when he's sure to have a clear line of sight at the man's chest he shouts towards the seemingly lone man.

"Drop the gun," he shouts, trying to find out if the man is on their side or if it's someone from the Dalton gang. Cole would immediately drop the man should he trying to shoot at them.
Aim and then speak.

Holt moves forward as Cole covers the gunman and call out to him. With his rifle up against hsi shoulder he hurries forward as fast as he can, very careful to stay out of Cole's line of fire. He races to a nearby tree or brush or water trough so he can get a better look at the gun man. If he can tell its one of the Daltons he opens fire on the man, if he can't tell, he waits for Cole's shouting call to reveal the answer.

Holt is sure it is not one of the men that came with them. But, there's no way to tell if he's specifically a Dalton or not.

When Cole speaks out the guy spins, pulling the revolver up, pointing it at Cole.
Go ahead and react, if necessary, we'll go into init. Though, likely one of the two of you will shoot him dead

Realizing that the man won't his gun, Cole fires off a round even if he can't be sure if it's one of the dalton gang. As soon as the rifle bucks and the projectile is on the way the hunter pushes the lever down and forward to push another round in the chamber.
Shoot the man. If he isn't incapacitated, I'd shoot again. The rifle gives me a RoF of 2 per round, right?

Holt knows this man isn't the deputy or one of his posse.

So he fires nice and clean at the man's chest without a second thought the moment he sees the gun in his hand.

In a hail of gunfire, Holt and Cole walk through the the woods and take out three men without much trouble. They catch the men in a cross fire with the deputies and take them out. If there was a forth, he escaped. After questioning the whores, they find out one man must have gotten away, but cannot find tracks to give chase.

Riding back to Dumas they await getting paid ..
