The Oath of the Moon

Several new werewolves find themselves in a small valley in the south of Wales, facing learning about what they are, learning to live and work together, and facing threats that lurk just beneath the apparently tranquil setting of the Rhondda Fach valley.Run by Storyteller Donan

The Oath of the Moon

Post by Donan » Fri Jul 16, 2010 12:42 am

These vows will be known to any character who started the game in a tribe, they're the tenants of being a Forsaken.

First Vow: The Wolf must Hunt

Not only does this vow prescribe that a werewolf must hunt, it also suggests that spending too much time in the human world is polluting to the spiritual half of the Forsaken. Still, many Uratha have trouble leaving their human lives behind and thus attempt to strike a balance. To cease shapeshifting for extended periods or to eat human-processed foods without ever hunting your own are also possible interpretive violations of this vow.

Second Vow: The People do not Murder the People

Cold-blooded murder and assassination is blasphemy to the People, and killing a defeated foe who has accepted his proper place is outright dishonor.

Third Vow: The Low Honor the High; The High Respect the Low

Respect your betters, respect your lessers.

Fourth Vow: Respect Your Prey

You do not torture your enemies, you either kill them or you don't.

Fifth Vow: The Forsaken Shall Cleave to the Human

The is perhaps the part of the Oath with the greatest consequences. It doesn't so much stipulate that Uratha must mate with humans, but it outright forbids mating with other werewolves for reasons that elders are loathe to speak of.

Sixth Vow: Do not Eat the Flesh of Man or Wolf

Cannibalism is bad, but is a quick road to recover Essence.

Seventh Vow: The Herd must not Know

Humans must not be made aware of the existence of werewolves, or they could very well turn on them.
