Introduction - Rebecca Miller

Several new werewolves find themselves in a small valley in the south of Wales, facing learning about what they are, learning to live and work together, and facing threats that lurk just beneath the apparently tranquil setting of the Rhondda Fach valley.Run by Storyteller Donan

Her grandparents both frown and her grandfather takes over. "It's the town to the south of this one Becky, maybe we forgot to tell you about it, but I'm sure we did.."

the old man shakes his head, and then enters the kitchen, hunts around and returns with a pair of ear plugs which he hands to Becky. "See you in the morning, don't let the bed bugs bite."

A little time later Becky drops to the grass outside her window, her guardians having gone to sleep themselves.

As she sneaked away from her grandparents house she looked back at it, it was just the way she remembered it from when she was a little girl.

She jogged away, towards the hideous sound. Ears and nose open and alert.

Becky's werewolf stamina serves her well and she moves along at a regular jog for about a quarter of a mile. The houses in Maerdy she passes are mostly dark with drawn curtains and despite the fact that it's not -that- late, no one else seems to be on the streets.

It's at that point where she walks straight into a mystery. Ferndale is gone and in its place is a town like Maerdy, though all the lights there are lit and the errie sounds are coming from it. If she looks beyond it she can see signs of Ferndale in the distance, a good half mile further away then it should be.

"Well... This is -really- odd.."
She pinches herself to make sure she's not dreaming, a town like Ferndale isn't moved over night.

Becky scopes the place out for a few minutes before sneaking into town, trying to find a dog or the like on someones backyard.

The strange sound seems to come from just about everywhere, but now she's actually in the middle of it she's able to pinpoint it a little more. While it comes from lots of places, the echo of it seems to signal the source as being underground.

She moves through a few side streets and past several gardens in her search. There are signs of dogs, leads hang from hooks, some doors have dog flaps and a few kennels are about, but there's no sign of any actual dogs, or any scent of them.

After a few minutes of skulking a man steps out of another street and smiles at Becky. "Hello." His tone 'seems' friendly, but there's a hint of amusement underneath it, and his smile just isn't right somehow.

"...hello, who are you?"

Or what, Becky thinks.

A door opens across the street and another man walks out, stepping into view under one of the streetlights.

"Hello." The same creepy smile. The two men wear slightly different clothes, but their bushy eyebrows, dark eyes, and almost completely flat hair make them just about identical.

The second one speaks up. "It's good to see someone new. A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet. Are you going to stay for a while?"

The first one starts speaking the second he stops. "Lots of people like pets, dogs are nice too. Why don't you come inside for something to drink?" The two of them beam at her.

"Uhm... You two look really alike, you're not twins by any chance? Cause that would be a huuge coincidence." She laughs nervously, realizing that she might have gotten in a bit over her head.

"No thank you, I don't feel like drinking anything today. What's with the noise around here?"

The man on the street steps closer, still beaming with a glint of malice in his eyes. There's not even the faintest hint of any kind of scent or smell from him. "We live here. We're friends."

Two more people emerge from streets further away and behind him and start heading towards the werewolf as the one now leaning against his house's doorframe takes his turn. "It's only friendly for you to come in. You're a neightbour. We want to get to.. know you." His lips curl in a cruel smile as he pauses. "You wanted to get to know us, didn't you?"

Wanted... That was the key, these things are the same that was in the bar and somehow they created a extra mile between the two towns. Spirits of some sort, no doubt.

"I don't even know your names, can't be friends without names.. Also, what are you?"
