Re: Character Generation
I am still thinking about a concept.
Bo, a question: When taking our background options, will we be able to freely choose a special ability, or must we roll?

Nor have I. I'm kinda waiting to see if Bo is going to actually run it or not.

Bo doesn't have much time right now: http://www.brennor.dyndns.org/rpg/Forum ... =4904.html
I'm afraid you'll have to wait until next week for a reply.

Re: Character Generation
Still very much want to run the game. Don't need to roll for the abilities. I think we'll assign them as decribed either on the website or the book (i'd have to look up which an dit's 2:30 am here... so..)
Yea. I'll be active from now until Nov then gone again for a few weeks :/
Hopefully we can get it started after that. Middle Earth, above all else, is near and dear to my heart so I want to RP even if the combat mechanics are clunky and a steep learning curve for me (as MERPS is shaping up to be)

I'm currently swamped at work and in over my head here, so I'm good with delaying things till December, or for someone to make my guy and give him to me to play.

Re: Character Generation
It is the way of things these days, it seems.. But good things come to those who wait!
I think we can start the RP portion of things just as soon as people post their characters. Who needs numbers? we'll just tell a good story to start with.

Re: Character Generation
Tharaladh Limril comes from a minor noble house of Arthedain and is a (very remote) relative of the royal family. He had the usual upbringing of an Arthedain young noble and often competed in arms and woodcraft with his elder brother, Araladh. He was supposed to marry his fiance Melwing, a girl from another noble house, whom he loved dearly. When she announced she would leave him and marry his brother instead. So Melwing and Araladh married last spring and Thoraladh fell into deep sorrow. The day after the wedding, he knew he could not stay at his family's home, a large estate near Annuminas (which Araladh would inherit), and volunteered for the military. He has gone through training without much enthusiasm but with some talent. He swore never to return to his home again. He is a young knight looking to overcome his past and find new ideas to fight for.
