Chapter 1: A Matter of Time - Matthew Beckett

A brand new era for humanity and mutantkind begins here! The rise of mutants coincided with global and secret agencies dedicated to detain all mutants and protect humanity. Most of earth's population including presidents, prime ministers, and royal families remain unaware of the mutant struggle and their powers. 'Nuff said.

Matthew now prepares to shoot the same man he already shot once.

"<Russian>Come on, you fascist dogs. Did you think it would be that easy?" Beckett shouts again, taunting them and hoping that it makes them do something foolish.
Attack w/ pistol.

Cover provides +4 defense vs ranged, currently everyone has cover

Attack: 1d20 + 10 (pistol) = 14
Def: 10 + 4 (cover) + 3 (flatfooted) = 17

miss
Matthew Beckett takes aim firing off another quick shot at the wounded soldier. He fires at the man, but he quickly ducks out of the way. Beckett's shot misses the man as he begins to shake off his wound and pick up his rifle.

It doesn't take long before the unknown soldiers retaliate. Behind Beckett, he hears a familiar sound of a grenade hammer being launched and the metal clanging of a canister hitting the back barn door. It's a high explosive (HE) grenade thrown against the back door of the barn. The grenade explodes, throwing pieces of the door into the air and causing many pieces and fragments to catch on fire. His time stop ability to lock the door seems to have faded away and allowed the grenade to explode on the door. A hole just bigger than a man is blown open in the door and Beckett can see another unknown soldier through the hole.
unstunned
Next, the shooters in front of the barn take aim and fire back. The wounded soldier takes a moment to recover and doesn't get a clear shot at Matthew.
Cover provides +4 defense vs ranged, currently everyone has cover

Attack: 1d20 + 5 (rifle) = 21
Def: 10 + 4 (cover) + 6 = 20

hit

Dmg DC = 15 + 5 (rifle) = 20
tough save = 1d20 + 6 - 2 (bruise) = 22
passed, no effect
The squad leader then takes aim and fires a round at Beckett, but misses hitting the tractor in front of Matthew. Beckett felt the wind of the bullet pass by and can see the hole in the tractor just inches away from his head.

Tishka - 1 bruise

With two openings in the barn and trapped between armed men, Beckett begins to take care of one of them, before taking care of the other. He turns around, away from the open doors and towards the lone gunman. In a matter of moments, Beckett is on his way towards him and only stops to send a round in his direction.
Move E as far as possible.
Shoot at S1.

Beckett vs S1
Attack: 1d20 + 10 (pistol) = 30 (20!)
Def: 10 + 5 = 15

Damage DC: 15 + 4 = 19 +5 (Crit) = 24
Tough Save: 1d20 + 6 = 9

Hit, failed by 15, unconscious
Beckett moves towards the rear door of the barn. As the explosion debris and smoke clears, the grenade tosser doesn't even seen Beckett moving towards him with his pistol draw. A quick and steady pull of his pistol sends a round out towards the surprised gunman hitting him in the shoulder. It's a critical hit, knocking the gunman out for the fight.

On the other side of the barn, the two men make a plan and split up. Beckett doesn't see the squad leader, but the wounded rifleman fires another round into the barn, but misses Matthew.
s2 vs Beckett
Attack: 1d20 + 8 (rifle) = 14
Def: 10 + 6 = 16
miss
you could exit the barn, if you wanted, too, do you want to get outside of it or just go as far east and stay within the barn?
Beckett - 2 bruises

Sharpshooter 2 - 1 bruise

Beckett rushes outside the barn, kicking up dirt as he turns to the left as soon as he's out. Although he cannot make out the squad leader, which makes him slightly nervous, he wants to use the barn as a large cover and to his advantage so he can take the shooters out seperately without the interruption of the others. And if it goes bad he can still turn back and have some time to try something else until they can set their sights on him.
Beckett runs out and heads North immediately after he left the barn. I don't know how far it is to the corner, but I almost assume that it's more than a single Move action to make it to the North East corner, so it's probably run or two Move actions. If I'm wrong PM me and I'll add an attack on S2.

With the things happening almost as he thought it'd go, Beckett takes two steps along the barn towards the wounded sharpshooter. He fires another round at the man, hoping to take him out so he can focus on the remaining thug.
Move E for a small distance to get out of the direct sight of SL.
Shoot S2.

Beckett, Sharpshooter 1, Sharpshooter 2, Tishka, Squad leader

Beckett vs S2
Attack: 1d20 + 10 (pistol) = 18
Def: 10 + 5 + 4 (cover) = 19

miss
Beckett moves around the north side of the barn and takes another shot at the wounded black ops sharpshooter. The man is stunned and in a lot of pain, but manages to evade this shot unlike the last couple fired by Beckett.
s2 - no action, unstunned now
All special ops sharpshooter can do is to take cover and stay out of the way as he's head's still a bit shaken from his other wounds.
Tishka - delay

SL - move move

The squad leader moves around the corner of the barn keeping his rifle in the ready position. Moving quickly, he turns the corner to find the two remaining men have Beckett cornered on both sides.

That is until Beckett hears, a shout coming from slightly above him, "Chyort voz'mi!" comes a rebel yell from the Russian. Looking back over his shoulder, he finds Tiska, a pitchfork, and the squadleader on the ground in that order. The pitchfork seems to have punctured through the Kevlar vest piercing into the man's chest. With the weight of Tishka on top of him, he doesn't appear to be a threat.

Tishka rolls off the man and finds the squad leader's rifle within arms reach. "<Russian> Oh, man, my head. Its hurt, you know."
Tishka - jump from top of barn with pitchfork vs SL surprise attack
pitchfork to the chest, SL is out of it, maybe not dead, but not a threat now
Beckett - 2 bruises
Tishka - 1 bruise

Squad Leader - unconscious
Sharpshooter 1 -unconscious
Sharpshooter 2 - 2 bruises
Beckett, Sharpshooter 2, Tishka

You're up again.

"<Russian> You better keep it down for a few moments. It's bad enough it hurts, but it'd be worse if you lose it completely. Or most of it anyway. By the way, well done, Tishka," Beckett says and throws a quick glance to the incapacitated squad leader and a smile to his Russian comrade.

As soon as he turns away from the men, Beckett runs a few yards along the barn to get a better view on the last sharpshooter. He's not sure if he's going to just trap the man or shoot him, but he takes his chances with another round before trying to resort to his power.
Move W as far as possible.
Shoot S2.

Beckett, Sharpshooter 2, Tishka

Beckett vs S2
Attack: 1d20 + 10 (pistol) = 25
Def: 10 + 5 + 4 (cover) = 19

Damage DC: 15 + 4 = 19
Tough Save: 1d20 + 6 - 2 (bruise)= 9

failed by 10+, staggered + stunned (one round)
Beckett moves quickly and takes aim at the remaining sharpshooter. His aim is true as he hits the man for the third time knocking him down to his knees. The sharpshooter is stunned and barely able to hold onto his conscious as Beckett moves quickly towards him for to finish him off.
S2 is stunned and cant take any actions other than reactions
As he holds onto his conscience, the sharpshooter lifts his rifle and takes aim at Beckett. Just as he's ready to pull the trigger on the incoming Beckett, the man slips away for a moment unable to pull the trigger and allowing Matthew to get even closer to him.

Tiskha picks up the squad leaders rifle, checks the magazine, and then moves to put his back against the exterior wall of the barn. Even though the former KGB intelligence analyst and computer hacker hasn't seen much combat, he's familiar with the basics of field work.
Health
Beckett - 2 bruises
Tishka - 1 bruise

Squad Leader - unconscious
Sharpshooter 1 -unconscious
Sharpshooter 2 - 2 bruises, staggered (only std or mv actions), stunned (-2 def, 1 round)

You'll be within melee distance in next round if you want, otherwise, you could just do a close range shot using something like All-out attack to reduce Def and increase Att by same amount (as long as def >= 0, you have def 6, so you could swap up to 6 points from Def to Att)

You'll also be close enough to avoid cover bonus granted to S2.
