Chapter 1: Lighting Up the Darkness - Ghost

A brand new era for humanity and mutantkind begins here! The rise of mutants coincided with global and secret agencies dedicated to detain all mutants and protect humanity. Most of earth's population including presidents, prime ministers, and royal families remain unaware of the mutant struggle and their powers. 'Nuff said.

At first Blinks quickly moves away as he feels a presence of someone hand on his shoulder, but then relaxes once he hears Ghosts voice. "Nice trick," he says.

Blink is wearing an armored vest and carrying a small pistol on his hip. Although, Shepard said that Blink isn't very proficient in combat, Blink is still one of the most important Sanctuary members due to his ability to teleport others.

Once everyone's ready, Blink activates his power and *Blink* the group is gone from the secret underground cavern.

*Blink*

Cipher, Blitz, Shepard, the invisible Ghost, and Blink appear on the streets of what appears to be Tokyo. Off in the distance at the end of the neon lit street, rests an ancient castle from the late Heian period. The castle has a high wall around it's outer courtyard, but the buildings can easily be seen from their viewpoint.

Shepard speaks, "That's our destination. The Scorpion Claw gives Matsumoto the ability to spawn more ninkyō dantai, yakuza, henchmen, minions, gang members, and such. So we'll have quite a bit of fight on our hands getting to him and we may never be able to defeat all of them before he spawns more. We need to get past the minions and get to Matsumoto. As we get closer to Matsumoto, his minions will get stronger. Matsumoto is also a strong fighter."

"First, we need to make contact with Kenjiro Matsumoto, his brother, who's more willing to assist our cause and would like Shinichi to give up the Yakuza. Kenjiro is the only one that can control the Scorpion Claw."

Shepard turns around, one hundred and eighty degrees, to see another building at the end of street in the opposite direction. Nodding in that direction, he takes off walking, "Come, let's visit the school and find Kenjiro. Any questions?"

Ghost has no questions and so he asks none. He wonders about something that can spawn actually people, and frowns. Such strangeness is now about in the world. Ghost almost shrugs to himself, but tenses realizing that this will actually be his first test ...

The group heads towards the school grounds. At the entrance, a large stone block has the words "The Golden Blossom Academy" inscribed on it. The man known as Iron Scorpion saves them the walk up the long driveway by meeting them at the gate.

"Konbanwa," Kenjiro greets them.

After a bit of talk, the group and Kenjiro head back towards the castle. As they discuss matters, it's revealed the the spawned Yakuza are actually from the spirit world but can kill you just as a mortal would. The katana blade carried by Kenjiro is called the Scorpion Blade and is of the same origin as the Scorpion Claw carried by his brother. It's clear to all that Kenjiro only undertook this fight against his brother under one condition, that his brother will not be killed. He has been unable to talk his brother away from the Yakuza world and believes that the Scorpion Claw has somehow corrupted his brother from overuse.

When they reach the outer walls, Kenjiro asks, "What's the attack plan?"

Shepard looks around at the others and states, "There's no use in trying to out stealth a horde of ninjas. So we'll provide a distraction for you and Ghost. You should be able to slip into the castle and then take down Shinichi."
kind of fast forwarding a bit to get you into combat

Kenjiro and Gregory head around to the opposite side of the castle. Meanwhile, Blitz, Shepard, Blink, and Cipher make a frontal assault on the castle hoping to buy the two stealthier mutants a bit of time with their distraction.

With Ghost's invisibility cast over both of them, they are able to make their way deep into the castle and into the inner chamber. As they approach the place where Kenjiro's brother is at, three elite ninjas notice their movements and begin to hear something, but the pair are still invisible.
Greg Stealth:
Kenjiro Stealth: 1d20 + 12 = 20
use lower of two (Greg has 16 Kenjiro only 12)

Elite Ninja x3 Notice: 1d20 + 7 = 21

Feel free to attack or just rp that you keep going, I'd have to believe that you two can see each other even though you're both invisible right now

I'm just sort of confused how they can hear / see anything, as that's what the power does ..
Ghost does not stop. He finds it unlikely these ninjas will actually see or hear them as they move passed as quickly as they can without being overly clumsy.

Sorry bout that. I sort of godmodded there a bit to get the story going using your power on yourself and Kenjiro, which meant it was the Shared Invisibility with concealment from all visual senses, but not aural. personal invisibility power is a bit stronger giving you visual, aural, and smell protection.
The two continue onwards and the elite ninja guards turn and go about their own business. The ninja thought they heard something, but then they dismissed it as just sounds from the old castle.
I'll post the big fight soon. Was trying to think of how to give you some fighting action when you can just walk right past them :)

Ok, I'm here and waiting
Ghost sneaks forward, looking for their target while attempting not to be noticed, at least for the time being.

Kenjiro and Gregory continue walking through the ancient fortress. As they move closer to the throne room, they find herds of ninjas fleeing the center chamber to exit out towards the castle grounds where their friends are providing a distraction.

To Ghost, it appears that there's an endless stream of ninjas. As soon as a dozen pass, another dozen follows them. The castle isn't nearly big enough to house hundreds or a thousand ninja.

Contrasting the ancient walls and layout of the castle are the technology improvements and defenses supplied along the way. They've noticed both cameras and electronic door locks for some hallways and doors.

Now, arriving at what Ghost believes must be the innermost chamber, Kenjiro looks at the door. The solid steel door is locked and requires a retina scan to unlock it. Kenjiro points to his eye and then to the retina scanner indicating that he'll be able to unlock the door once he's visible to the scanner.

Standing next to the locked door are two elite ninjas who remain motionless like statues.

Kenjiro pulls out his katana with one hand while holding onto Ghost with the other hand to maintain his invisibility. He points to himself and then to the ninja on the right near the retina scanner and then to Ghost and the ninja to the left of the doorway.
Still assuming Kenjiro and you can see each other, but I don't think you can talk else give away your position.

Ghost nods slightly, understanding his meaning. He hopes that the rest of the ninjas do not turn around and come back. But these two, he figures, should be easy enough to handle.

Surprise round. Ninja are flatfooted

Kenjiro, Ghost, Ninja1 , Ninja2
Kenjiro vs Ninja1
Scorpion Strike power

Attack: 1d20 + 7 = 24
Def: 10 + 3 (flatfooted) = 13
Hit, succeeded by 11 (autofire feat means 11/2 = 5, max of 4 (7/2) )

Damage DC: 15 + 7 + 2 (mighty) + 4 (autofire bonus) = 28
Tough Save: 1d20 + 7 = 15

failed by 10+, Ninja1 is staggered (only take either std or mv action/rd) + stunned (-2 def, no dodge bonus, no actions/only reactions for 1 round)
Kenjiro releases the grip on Gregory and jumps into action. The elite Scorpion Ninja didn't even see Kenjiro, so he's taken by surprise. Kenjiro's katana moves an an incredible speed as he strikes the ninja at least four times, but it's hard for Gregory or anyone to actually know how many times Kenjiro struck the Ninja or how many times he hit.

After the flurry of strikes, the Ninja slumps and is barely holding onto consciousness. He's hurt bad and stunned from the aggressive surprise attack.

Ghost watches as Kenjiro nearly takes out the first Ninja in the opening attack as he...
