I'm more familiar with Star Wars Saga than d20 Modern, but either would be fine with me. I'd be fine with GURPS too. I'm not familiar with Warhammer 40K and don't own any of the books--everything I've read about the setting has failed to appeal to me, so I've never looked into more deeply.

They're actually very similar. I will probably go with Star Wars Saga. I might change one or two things -- I might go the route of the Mass Effect thing Shurijo and I started, which Var has improved upon, and completely make it classless.

That sounds good to me. I'll pick up on whatever ruleset you decide on once you make the decision.

Actually -- What do you guys think about running a slightly adjusted A Song of Ice and Fire RPG system that I already use?

I would have to tinker some things, but probably not much.

I know it as well or better than anything else we have so I have no issue with it.

I'm unfamiliar with the Song of Ice and Fire rules, but I have a copy of them, so I could swing it. It just might take me a little while to familiarize myself with them and make a character. But how well would rules written for a specific medieval fantasy setting work for a space opera setting, even one where a lot of tech and science is at a medieval level? I mean, can they handle an android?

I think I've decided.

We're going with Saga SWs.

The only difference is I'm allowing any class to take any talent tree, or, if a feat has a prereq of a class, I'm waving that.

Some feats might be inappropriate for the setting. We'll discuss as needed.

Armor will not increase your REF or FORT defense. They will be reworked to simply subtract damage. In general, the equipment is way to sophisticated, obviously, and we'll need to rework some.

You guys should also give me some ideas on what you want to do at the start. I don't really have any basic character backgrounds. Once I have some idea, I can start planning the opening.

I have to admit guys, I think I started this game when I shouldn't. Not only do we have a lack of player interest, but I think I feel the same way. I'm not sure why I started it to begin with .... :/
