Name: Seroneth
Race: Elf
Gender: Female
Class: Magus (Bladebound/Hexcrafter)

Hair: Auburn
Skin: Fair
Eyes: Green
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 120 lbs
Age: 124

Slender though as a steel blade, Seroneth’s willowy limbs hide remarkable strength. She stands nearly the height of a human male, though her movements are graceful and deliberate and there is a lightness in her step that most humans lack. Her auburn hair falls to her waist, and aside from a few strands that blow freely, the greater portion is kept back in a long ponytail. Dark green eyes sparkle with amusement and curiosity, and laugh lines at the edges of her mouth suggest someone who enjoys smiling.

Dressed mostly in forest green, Seroneth tends to stand out aboard a ship. Her armor is sparkling mithral, reinforced by boiled leather in strategic places, though it is clear that she enjoys dressing lightly. Given the warm weather of the Shackles and the likelihood of having to go for a swim, this should be no surprise, and she wears her outfit well. Eschewing the traditional longbow of her people, Seroneth is armed primarily with a katana, a strange weapon for the area she frequents, and the blade is paired with a smaller mate accessible from the small of her back. A small dagger completes her visible arsenal, strapped to a leg. Those believing these to be the limits of her combat ability should beware, however, for Seroneth is a skilled magus, capable of inflicting serious harm through magic as well.

A proud woman, Seroneth has much to boast of. Highly intelligent and confident in her mental and physical skills, she has made her way in the world mostly through her brains and her blades. Her thoughts follow logical patterns for the most part (there are exceptions), and despite her challenges, she has developed a charmingly forthright attitude. She can be doggedly persuasive, and is enthusiastic in all that she does. A daring and adaptable fighter, Seroneth is not averse to calculated risks, though she values self-preservation above all. She is honorable to a degree: she has her own personal code of treating others fairly and rewarding those who earn her respect with loyalty, but she is, after all, a pirate. For one of her chosen career, however, she is surprisingly honest. Those who get to know Seroneth will find her talkative, amusing, and often flirty. They will also find a fast friend. She is highly religious, a common thing among elves, and utterly devoted to Calistria. If there is one thing she hates above all else, it is slavery.

Seroneth is not without foibles, however. Due in part, perhaps, to her intellect, she is very proud. She can be scornful at times, and will never let a wrong (or perceived wrong) go unpunished. She is hedonistic, somewhat narcissistic, and has a tendency toward possessiveness. Her persuasiveness can oft be turned to manipulation for her own gain, particularly those she has no intention of getting close to. Those who have wronged her will find her an implacable foe and meet with cold-hearted vengeance and somewhat sadistic punishments if she is given the opportunity. To those who betray her, she will spare no effort in repaying – it is a religious act. Seroneth has killed for money (or other reward), and is like to do so again, but she does not betray unless first betrayed. She rarely hits the bottle hard, but when she does she may suffer the occasional bout of depression, dwelling on past hurts.

The Crew of The Thresher

Swabs
Jon "Tiny" Olahoun (Male Human): Jon is a large 6'7 black human, a wise older gentleman who has seen many a day battling in the decks of the Thresher, his wisdom is only marched by his ability to fight, because of his age Jon has lost all of his hair something that he makes up for by having a very large beard.

Clegg 'Shark Bait' Bonney (Male Half-Orc): Once a Chelaxian slave, Shark Bait claims he escaped a slave ship along with a family of halflings after the ship transporting them foundered in a storm. As he tells it, he pulled them out of the water, lashed together a makeshift raft, and swam to the nearest inhabited island, pulling the raft after him. Nobody's sure if the story is true, but he swims well. Shark Bait is as ugly as he is strong, having many scars, results of wounds or lashings taken in the past. He always walks about shirtless to show off.

"Wild" Ann (Female/Human): A tall, strong, dark haired woman with tattoos. She speaks little and likes to fight. She is hoarding her plunder for some unknown purpose she never talks about.

Malvina "Dead Eyes" Lindsey (Female Elf): She's a tall elven woman with a strange gait and off putting manner of holding herself. Her bangs hang down over her eyes and nose, and when she brushes the hair to the side you are surprised to see her eyes are solid white. She's an oracle of the Pirate Queen Besmara.

8-fingered Holler (human male): Short of stature, short of temper, shaved his head completely at the onset of premature gray hair. Stocky, strong, fiercely loyal to his crewmates and usually gets into barfights every shore leave because of some perceived insult against him, his mother, his crewmates or the ship he served on. Proud, prickly and with a fondness for black humor.

Riggers
Adina Longtooth (female elf): Adina stand a short 5'8, her small size for a elf allows her to be extremely nimble, making her job as a rigger easier, she is easy going and sometimes can even be described as motherly as long as you stay on her good side.

Joanna Farseer (Female Half-Elf): A slight woman of medium height in her mid-twenties with a birthmark on her neck that only slightly mars her beauty, Joanna came to the pirate life through her father, Winthrop Farseer, a small-time pirate captain who operated out of Port Peril. Joanna's mother was Winthrop's favorite doxie, and he doted on his daughter. When she was old enough, she sneaked on board his ship and became part of the crew. She's served on board several different ships since, and has an talent that matches her surname.

"Jolly" Roger (Male/Half-Elf): A short, skinny man from some big port city. He is good with a knife, hates slavery (having been a slave) and is ironically called "jolly" for his gloomy, black humored, pessimistic outlook on life. "I know it for sure, this time we're all going to die, tortured to death by them fishmen."

Peter "Girly" Lavelle (Male Human): So named for his unblemished face, androgynous features, long golden locks all of which he takes pains to keep in as good order as possible at sea and a penchant for wooing just about every reasonably attractive female which *might* be interested. Reliable, never complains about hard work and is good in a fight. Turns out to be too shallow to bond much with other crewmates though, never new stories or interesting topics of conversation with him, but at least he plays cards and instruments and can sing well enough.

(I'll edit this after GM approval)

Rod will also request some crew from the Banshee for the Thresher. If possible some good old friends:
Henric (Cook)
Crimson Cog
Rosie Cusswell
Conchobar
Voodoo Jane
Yardarm Sam

That would get us to about 20, and the Banshee to 20 as well.

New Crew from Rickey Squibs (3/6)

Margareth "Maggie" Cordwayner
A young scrawny halfling red-head, with her head full of tales of adventures and an attitude to rival Flavinia's. Eager to show off that she's able and willing to do her part, although very much the rookie on the ship with little idea of what the pirate life really is like.

Ramsay Blake
A thin man with dark hair and an evil eye, rumor says Blake once captained his own ship, leading a crew of non-human monsters including a gnoll, a dragon, and an ogre. When asked about this, he only smiles and refuses to confirm or deny the tales. Blake is known to be a pitiless opponent, but a loyal crew member.

Jake "Shiny Buckles" Ninnies
The Ghost of Oyster Sandbar! Jake is a tall human man, and as his name suggests he loves wearing large shiny buckles. He has them all over his armor, not just on his belt. He's a rather seasoned sailor in his thirties. His last ship went down on Oyster Sandbar in the Shackles, and he was the lone survivor, which has caused some to call him a ghost, as he's haunted by that memory. Never has been the same, but he's nursed his pain here at Rickty's long enough and its time he takes to the waves once more.

"Big" Thorgrim Bloodaxe
Even by dwarven standards, he is short, but makes it up with ferocity in battle. When not in battle, he is calm and respectful, and sometimes bores people with exceedingly long stories that include dwarven family trees. He wears an eyepatch and is surprisingly nimble up in the rigging.

"Tall John" Oakheart
Standing at the "impressive" height of 5'2 "Tall John" is the island's nine pin champion, he is nimble, cunning and fierce, often using the enemy's tendency to underestimate him to his advantage. He is stubborn and brusque but he makes up for this by having a heart of gold. "Tall John" is a bard by trade and enjoys entertaining the crowds by playing the lute and singing, he enjoys the finer things in life and has been known to drink a person or 12 under the table.

Name: Safia
Race: Changeling (storm-hag)
Gender: f
Class: Brawler

Height: 5'11" - 180cm
Weight: 125 - 56kg
Age: 15

Physical Description: A willowy yet strong lass, possessing an unnatural pallor, contrasted by shoulder-length raven-black tresses and tribal affectations. Her mismatched eyes hint at non-human parentage, but most disturbing are her fingernails, which have been grown out and trimmed into wicked claws.
_
Safia grew up on the muddy shores of the Sodden Lands, in a tribal settlement called Hazelmire in her native tongue. Her parents were good to her, and her older brother swam with her and roughhoused with her on the regular. She grew faster than him, and her parents made her responsible for many chores and duties, but made plenty of time for her after they were done to take her camping. These camping trips built up her strength and led to many successful hunts. She also learned what was safe to eat and what wasn't by eating different plants, and tasting her own home remedies.

But one day, Safia heard a sweet, singing voice. Enchanted by its song, she headed into the swamp, and wandered for hours. She only realized for how long by the time the sun desceneded westward. Missing her family, she ran back to her marshland village in the late hours, bracing for her punishment for when she stood in front of Mother - but as she approached, she heard the erratic, chanting of tribals in the throes of a ritual growing increasingly...distressing. She noticed the torchlights burning brighter, and brighter. Not torchlight - burning huts! The sounds of screams and begging began to drown out the mysterious songstress as she drew near. Violent scavengers had set upon her home, running through defenders, burning huts, and dragging people off. "Pirates" was the word strained through sighs and sobs among those who remained among the living, as Safia searched for her parents, only to find Father dead, and Mother missing along with her brother Kete. They must have come northward, they said - from the islands of the Shackles.

Safia committed these words to memory. Leary of getting caught at sea by these "pirates" or by the Wrath of Gozreh, during the night, she rummaged through her family's hut for supplies. She picked over burned huts for more, ignoring the survivors' protests, and turning only to stop their advances with a glare. She packed for a trip along the muddy coast, taking a trained gecko with her. As she left, she heard a familiar voice again - the sweet voice, beckoning with its song. Safia diverted from the shores to investigate the voice, believing her new friend could help her. Her journey took her further south along one of the tributaries in Mwangi land, and her new friend turned out to be a hunched, hideous old crone. Calling itself her grandmother, it spoke to her of familial ties and promises of safety and aid. Even as she followed, Safia found something odd about "Grandmother" that she just couldn't place; a strange twisted look in her eyes. An ominous aura. A sense that Grandmother must be hiding something. Hours passed, and while Safia did enjoy a warm fire and delicious food, the crone began a strange ritual, chanting in a strange language. Safia felt odd sensations, and found herself slowly comprehending the words. But just as Grandmother began to enter a second phase in the ritual, Safia ran away, stealing covetous trinkets and fleeing up the river and back on course.

By the sound of it, this impudent act enraged and oddly delighted Grandmother, and among the things Safia stole, she found a marked-up map. Reasoning that Grandmother must be sick or mad, Safia resolved to find a way to help her while also hunting down the pirates who attacked her village. From there, she followed the map instead, which lead to the first stop on her journey, in Port Peril.
_

Motivations: Hunt down the pirates (?) who abducted her mother and brother, and follow a trail of clues to their mysterious end... perhaps to treasure?
