A Drive to the Woods

Everyone has debated for decades over what form the coming apocalypse would take; many think plague, some thing war, some thing famine, others a frightening combination of all the above. What were your predictions? How well did you prepare for the eventuality which came to claim the human race?

In this adventure characters are survivors of the apocalypse, the last bastian of humanity that holds out against the oncoming hard and struggle to delay the inevitable.

We are using the All Flesh Must be Eaten game system for the adventure and players who are unfamiliar with the system will be helped along so that everyone can enjoy the 'fun'

As a note, please don't get too attached to any one character you choose to make, s/he may not make it. Heck, while were at it, go ahead and make a backup character just in case.

With nearly an hour of road between the group and the police station the group had started to settle back down into something of a more relaxed posture. That is until a few things start to come to the forefront of realization with the group. The first being that the truck is starting to run low on fuel, the second being none of the group have eaten since breakfast earlier that morning.

"Rust," Rust says, introducing himself. "Homicide, but looks like I'm unemployed just currently." He shrugs and looks out the window. "We should try to find a gas station, fuel up and get some burritos."

Its some distance down the road before the group finds a sign that indicates an oasis of one type or another, looks to be a Race Track gas station. Pulling up a short distance form the pumps the group can see there are cars in the parking lot but it dosn't appear that anyone standing around or filling their cars.

"Stop here," Rust says just a bit away from the gas station. "Is there anyone moving?" He frowns, "We should be careful." He draws his gun, just in case something goes south.

"We should be incredibly careful. Even if the people who owned those cars aren't zombies yet, they will be on edge." Tara continues to hold onto her backpack tightly, one hand still inside of it.

Everything is still, the sound of traffic a forgotten memory and only the wind breaks up the silence. A lone dog can be seen on the other side of the street eyeing the group suspiciously. Whoever owned those cars, they are no where to be seen.

Moving closer to the pumps the group is cautious and its not until a man pushes open the gas station door can anyone be seen. The man's lower jaw is missing, ripped off in some horrific encounter and he has a glassy look to his eyes as he pauses in the doorway to consider the people walking up to the place.

"I suggest two of us go up, take care of the groaner, then make sure everything's safe." Rust looks at Caleb, "We can signal you to pull up and we can start pumping."

Rust sighs, "Who is coming with me? Just be careful about shooting the pumps."

"I got a crossbow in back. Less chance of blowing up," Caleb whispers.

"Okay," Rust says. "These things don't see to care if they're shot anywhere but the head." He frowns, "Someone get behind the wheel and be ready." He opens the door and slowly approaches the dead man walking.
