A Drive to the Woods

Everyone has debated for decades over what form the coming apocalypse would take; many think plague, some thing war, some thing famine, others a frightening combination of all the above. What were your predictions? How well did you prepare for the eventuality which came to claim the human race?

In this adventure characters are survivors of the apocalypse, the last bastian of humanity that holds out against the oncoming hard and struggle to delay the inevitable.

We are using the All Flesh Must be Eaten game system for the adventure and players who are unfamiliar with the system will be helped along so that everyone can enjoy the 'fun'

As a note, please don't get too attached to any one character you choose to make, s/he may not make it. Heck, while were at it, go ahead and make a backup character just in case.

"Gimme that pack, and that one," Caleb says, readying his nerves. The first bundle is his crossbow, which he easily readies. The second holds his Gransfor lumber axe, in case he can't reload in time. "I'll fire first, and hope to keep it quiet. If I fail, noise is a foregone conclusion. Heck, we may signal a survivor." Caleb takes point, and shoots when then zombie gas clerk notices.

The first shot hits the man with the missing jaw in the chest. He takes a half step backwards, seeming to think on what has just occurred and starts to run, not saunter, not shamble, but run, towards the group getting within range of Rust before anyone has another chance to act.

Caleb drops the bow and draws his Gransfor, ready to get a little more personal with the fight.

Rust did not expect that.

"Shit!" he yells, turning and running away from the rushing 'thing'. "Shit!" he repeats, trying to get away and get back toward the truck. As he runs, he tries to turn and shoot the lawless demon in the head.

The man with an arrow in his chest takes an axe to the face, this seems to do what the crossbow did not and drops the man to the ground where he makes no further movements or sounds. From the shop come two more of those predisposed to violence and death. One is a young woman, perhaps not more than fourteen and the other looking to be her father. Both are not in as bad a case as the man before them but from the look on their face they are interested in only one thing, and thats to violently assault the group gathered out front.

OOC: Sorry about that, I must have missed the second half of your pose there.

Rust pulls back away from the man, avoiding being hit by either him or his axe wielding friend. When Rust turns to return fire into the man he see's that he has already been felled and holds the rounds for a later encounter.

"Uh.. Guys. We have more company!" Tara shouts out from the driver seat of the truck. She points in the direction of the two new undead.

Rust tries to get behind the truck and frame up his weapon toward the incoming 'people'. "Shoot then in the head, that seems to work!" he calls out.
