Re: Tharbad OOC Discussion
Yeah, I think I even made some posts to point out the IC reality of Vara's situation and how ridiculous it is to me that characters think he should have some how managed to survive the north with a wagon of gold. And not one PC seems to care that ll the other dwarves in his caravan were killed and died because of the Ranger's venture. Very double standard.

Re: Tharbad OOC Discussion
Yeah, well keep in mind that Halleth and especially Aravule were badly shaken and disturbed by what happened. The first they heard of Vara was that someone had run off with Aravule's rightful possessions, not the full story of what happened to Vara. I think their perception of him is colored by this. And the other characters are allies of Aravule and Halleth, which will in turn color their perception of someone the two Rangers view with suspicion. We judge people unfairly in life all the time--I don't see what's so odd about our characters doing in a game.

I suppose so, just even after he's told the stories a few times now, no one's willing to change their views, but Nalir got a pass.... its odd is all.

Re: Tharbad OOC Discussion
I don't think Telurin sees things that way. He felt sorry for Vara, but at the same time had nothing to offer him. As far as the loss and deaths, etc. well, that was what he was recovering from while Aravule was in Elrond's houses of healing. And as for Nalir, Telurin really does have something against that dwarf, but didn't think him worth any consideration once we'd sent him away penniless.

Re: Tharbad OOC Discussion
I'm sorry Aravule's IC attitude doesn't jive with what you think it should be.
#1 Nalir did not get a pass. He was jailed for a year.
#2 Aravule believes that Vara used the chaos to his advantage and was planning to steal the gold, until Nalir stole it from him.
#3 Aravule's memory was severely screwed with at the time of the disaster, you know, being tainted by a wight and all.
Aravule will continue disliking Vara until he proves he's not a thief to Aravule.

Re: Tharbad OOC Discussion
I'm not going to comment further, since I don't want to keep taking away from the game thread itself.
I may have derailed things a bit too much here.
Sorry about that.

So, for clarity's sake. Have we jumped forward to the day of the drop?

Cool! Well, that was a very different kind of TOR adventure. Fun, and it will be cool to see what comes next.
