In response the Salarian raises his gun and aims it at Saolina, "there will not be any surrendering today." He says.

Bata'Vek backs up the Krogans, advancing next to the cockpit door. He gives a thumbs up to the other two. They may think his drones to be cowardly, but they seriously expand the Quarian's firepower.
Move 1x NW of Krogan #1 (so beside the door leading to the Cockpit). Back them up once they open the door and head in.

Beta positions himself by the cockpit door as he opens the door two Salarians are revealed, the Salarians are agitated one of them holds what looks like a detonator in his hand and is waiving it in front of his face. "Seize your advance Quarian, or else we will destroy the ship".

"You'll die too. Doesn't sound like the best negotiating position." Bata'Vek does hold his position for now, looking around the room.
From my Engineer experience/judgment, do I think that he's BS-ing me? Rigging a ship to blow and holding a Red Button in hand? Any obvious explosives in the bridge? Or I guess more likely, explosives would be in the ammo hold or engines, not in my LOS.

Max was frustrated at himself for his poor aim (Not that full-auto fire was ever known to be accurate mode of fire). He'd used his Omni-tool to identify the locations of the Salarians but that wasn't enough for Max. He wanted to end them. Knowing the thermal clip was nearing a needed change Max refocused his aim and hoped to make his shots count.

To Kinney he yelled, "Get down!" Before unloading a stream of hyper-velocity "bullets" towards the closest Salarian.

Beta grimly looks on at the scene unfolding in front of him on the cockpit of the ship paying special attention to his surroundings while assessing the situation one thing becomes quite clear to him right away, the ship is indeed wired to blow and the Salarian is not bluffing.

Elsewhere in the ship Kinney quickly crouches after hearing Max desperate scream, as she hits the deck Max unleashes a a hail of bullets towards the Salarian, the first shot hits the Salarian on his arm, the blow is absorbed by his shield, the Salarian grunt at the impact however he trains his sights on Max. Max's second shot goes wide and ring of the hallway's wall. The Salarian pulls the trigger and fires upon Max whose shield absorbs the damage.

Abandoning her plan to flank the cockpit's entrance, instead she double backs and places herself behind the Krogan who ran into the room, in her eyes the situation is not pretty and it is degenerating rapidly. The tension in the room is palpable and the crew needs to figure something out quickly before they are sucked into the vacuum of space. The frantic pilots waive their guns and the detonator in the faces of the crew, "lower your weapons, now." they demand.

Image link doesn't work for me.
From a lying position, Kinney does not waste time of her own with rifle still in hand, she aims up and higher at the center mass of the Salarian before releasing a burst of fire at the enemy between them. Of course this is the worst kind of flanking their opponent at the moment but they need to act fast.
Auto attack fire from Kinney against the same one.

Does it work now?
Kinney hits the deck and let's go a baraje from her rifle the first shot goes wide, but her second attempt hits true, the Salarian's shield however protects him from the brunt of the hit.

After clearing the room Ustarflu rounds the corner and takes aim at the Salarian facing Saolina, realizing the position that she is in Saolina immediately crouches opening enough space for Ustarflu to fire. Ustarflu takes aim without hesitation and pulls on the trigger, his shot rings hollow as it strikes a pipe hanging from the wall. To the right of the cockpit door one of the Krogan brothers itches to pull the trigger on the pilot crew, however realizing the position that they find themselves in he simply opens the door in front of him and readies for anything that the pilots might try.

Moving to a more advantageous position the Salarian in front of Saolina and Ustarflu rounds the corner and opens fire on the Asari. The shot hits Saolina square on the force of the shot is absorbed by Saolina's barrier before it can do any damage to her.

Bata'Vek narrows his eyes, trying to get a better reading on the explosive devices and trigger. He ducks back behind the door, out of line-of-sight. He taps away on his Omni-Tool, trying to figure out if he can jam or otherwise interfere with the trigger.
So nasty explosives, got it. Is it a wired, or remote trigger? Do I think I can successfully Jam the signal, so we can advance and take them out?

Saolina curses, she's under fire and out in the open, luckily her Barrier has held up. So she darts forward right up to the Salarian. She arches her back and howls, "Eeeuah!" and her Barrier detonates and explodes in a wide 10 foot radius right into the enemy.

If for some reason its gone from the blast (I'm slightly confused) she will move then fire point blank with her pistol
