Book 2, Act II: Scion
Emilia opens the door to the bedroom immediately in front of them as they come up the stairs to have a look inside. Then she leads the group into the landing where she leaves them to peek around the corner at the end of the east hallway connected to it, then returns to lead and open the door to the library and each bedroom and bathroom, saving the master suite for last on their way to the tower, prepared for Aroden-knows-what.

Book 2, Act II: Scion
The upstairs has been fully explored. There is more than enough space for everyone to have their own room, or share as their hearts desire. Especially for those used to more humble living experiences. Particularly better than Emilia bunking in a barracks, or Bala sleeping under a tree on his travels.
Lastly, time to explore the basement. The underground level isn't spacious like the house itself. But there is more than sufficient room for a wine cellar (the wine racks themselves long since emptied), a food cellar, and general storage.
Astraea almost by pure chance finds a dusty lever in the cellar, almost lost in dirt and cobwebs. Pulling it out of curiosity, a door opens into a secret room underneath the circular tower above. The room has miniature furniture laid out, sized for toddlers or perhaps small children. In addition to the small table and chairs, there are broken liquor bottles smashed in one corner, and desiccated crumbs scattered about. As she putters around she feels the air move unnaturally, and thinks she might be hearing something as well. A few seconds later, both the airflow and noise cease altogether.

Emilia cautiously peers into the room that sits beneath the tower, and walks in...

Bala quietly moves in behind the knight, keeping his guard up in case there's an arrow in the dark.

"Secret room for children? Or perhaps halflings?" Mercutio muses. "If there is one secret, there are likely more. But I imagine there will be time for a thorough search once we have seen it all"

"Hello?" Astraea called out to the empty room. "Is anyone there? We mean no harm if you are friendly." She hoped she didn't sound like a fool.

Book 2, Act II: Scion
At Astraea's call, some of the noise and air movement return, smaller and more subtle than before. After a minute, a quiet voice calls out from somewhere in a lilting, high-pitched, and liquid tone. However, the language is unknown to any here, despite their polyglot group. After a long second, the voice changes to the common trading tongue.
"Why are you here, strangers? Come to steal and break what belongs to Lady Allis? Another in a long line of robbers and thieves?" Out of nowhere, one of the small chairs rises up into the air, then rushes towards Astraea. It veers slightly to the side, slamming into the wall a few inches away from the warrior. "We do not tolerate those who defile the memory of Lady Betony. Leave before we truly get angry at your presence. The peasants have learned this lesson long ago. We will teach it again if needed."

Emilia whips her head around to the clattering chair. She raises her voice to the mysterious presence.
"We didn't come here to steal... Who are you?"

"So the house is haunted, is it?" Mercutio had not seen any signs of a stowaway, so possibly some other creature. They would likely have to do something about it.

"The house is being returned to proper Lordship. The legacy of Lady Allis shall live again," the monk replies to the disembodied voice. Far better to assuage a ghost than have to cow it with brute strength.
