Straightening up from the heavy blow, he resets his footing and grip on the pike. He spends that second looking at the stance the pirate has taken, grudgingly recognizing the significant skill of the man. Whoever he is he isn't some novice new to the profession. This is a man that has seen fighting and killing before. Granite will have to be careful, trusting to the Force and the integrity of his armor to weather the storm. Having taken enough time adjusting, he starts a series of thrusts and slices to keep his enemy on the defensive.

Chapter 1D: Last Days of the Republic
The bulky Jedi takes the blow of the vibroaxe well, but it still hurts. Even with the Stim taking away some of the pain of his injuries, he can still feel the burns and now blows he has taken. Breathing is painful, so he might have cracked a rib. Or maybe it's just bruising and inflammation taking their toll. Regardless, something to worry about later in the infirmary. Right now he needs to not die. You know, priorities.

Chapter 1D: Last Days of the Republic
Jedi Knight Granite attacks the Pirate Captain, but the captain is able to hold his ground avoiding taking more damage.
"Granite!" Jedi Knight Batu shouts as she rounds the corner with the other three Alderaan Guards. "The Republic fighters arrived and held off the other---" Her sentence cuts short as she takes in the situation noticing the three downed Alderaan guards and pirate crew with two heavily wounded combatants still engaged.

Chapter 1D: Last Days of the Republic
"Guards! Shoot for Stun, if we can take him alive we can question him." Ignoring his latest injury added to the cornucopia of bruises artistically spreading across his body, he decides to get gutsy and try something different for a change.
He telegraphs a reckless thrust for the pirate's face. When the vibroaxe hacks upwards for the easy block, Granite lets go with his right hand, letting the pike swing back while he recklessly steps in close. His mechanical right arm starts a high-pitched whining as capacitors charge and his hand reforms into a wider block of metal. He goes for a surprising gut punch with his repulsor fist, the energy purposely spread out into a larger area to knock the wind out of him, rather than break every single one of his ribs.
After the strike Granite darts backwards, his left hand using the momentum of the block and his movement to bring it back into reach. His hand quickly reforms into fingers again, and he grabs the haft and resets his stance, still ready for battle.

Jedi Knight Batu sees Granite is wounded, so she steps in saying. "We can take it from here. Catch your breath. We still need to clear their ship and detach it from us. Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Adi Gallia and a contingent of clone pilots received the distress call and was able to fight off the rest of the pirates."

Chapter 1D: Last Days of the Republic
Granite leans back against the wall, catching his breath. Not because of the order, but because he really needed to catch his breath. As strong and durable as he is, he's still a biological being. And combat is surprisingly exhausting for those who haven't experienced it firsthand. He does dismissively wave away the Pirate. "Yeah, yeah, you already found me, and that didn't go so well for you. If you ever 'find me' again it will be because I got around to visiting you in a cell."

A few hours later, the pirates have been secured with binders and placed in locked containers in the cargo hold of the ship. Jedi Knight Rikros Batu and Jedi Padawan Zett Jukassa stand guard in the cargo hold as a precaution. The three wounded Alderaan guards are in critical condition and rests in the medical bay.
The pirate ship, called the Vagabond has been severed from the Tantive III's docking port. As requested by Senator Organa, the Vagabond is to be taken and impounded at Coruscant when they arrive along with the pirates. In route to Coruscant, the Vagabond is piloted by the Tantive III's second-in-command with a minimalist crew which also includes Jedi Knight Granite.
Outside the ship, two Jedi Masters and a contingent of Clone Pilots escort the Senator's ship back to Coruscant.
Once the Vagabond has been inspected and verified for hyperspeed, the two ships depart the sector and enter hyperspace.

Before they leave hyperspace, Granite feels a strange feeling though the Force, an unsettling, dreadful, and overwhelming feeling of loss like something tragic has happened throughout the galaxy.
When they exit hyperspace near Coruscant, they find the planet under attack by Separatist forces. The Jedi and Clones are able to escort the two civilian ships around the primary area of conflict so they can enter the atmosphere. Jedi Masters Plo Koon and Adi Galli and their Clone contingent split off and join the fight.
The Senator's ship, Tantive III, is given a space at the Republic's Senate landing platform. However, the Vagabond and crew are not permitted to land due to the emergency orders they are operating under the ongoing conflict with the Separatists.
Instead, the Vagabond lands within the confines of the Alderaan embassy located several kilometers away from the Senate Building. Once the ship lands, the Alderaan crew leaves the ship and heads inside to await any orders.
A few moments later as Jedi Knight Granite departs the Vagabond, his Jedi beacon transceiver light flashes red. To hear or see the message, Granite needs to activate the transceiver and receive the broadcast. It is highly irregular for the transceiver to be used by the Jedi Temple and it was only to be used in dire circumstances.

Granite quickly steps away from the ship and any listening ears. Well, outside of the other Jedi with him, he doesn't mind that. But regardless if something bad is going on at the Jedi Temple, this may be something only the Jedi can deal with. He pushes his beacon transceiver, waiting to hear the message.

Having felt sensed a great disturbance in the Force several minutes ago, the Jedi activates the receiver. A voice-only message plays with a slow and measured voice. "This is Anakin Skywalker declaring a Nine Thirteen Emergency. All Jedi return to the Jedi Temple."
Meanwhile, the Alderaan security detail scrutinize the pirate vessel and begin the paperwork to transfer possession to the Army of the Republic for impound.

Chapter 1D: Last Days of the Republic
Alarmed at the all-hands emergency call, he begins walking swiftly in the direction of the Jedi Temple. On route he tries to call Knight Rikros and Padawan Zett to see if they received the same emergency call, and what they were planning on doing about it.

Chapter 1D: Last Days of the Republic
Neither Padawan Zett nor Jedi Knight Rikros replies. The padawan was to escort the senator to the emergency session accompanied by the Alderaan guard and senate security. Jedi Knight Rikros was to transport the pirates to the senate security chief to be handed over to local authorities.
As the Jedi Knight walks, an Alderaan repulsorlift airspeeder pulls up alongside him with the Tanative III's second-in-command. "It'll take you days to walk anywhere here, need a lift?"
The two speed off through the congested skylanes towards the Jedi Temple and ultimately the commander's destination, the Senate Building. Due to the excessive traffic, the pair's journey takes longer than expected. As they are nearing the Jedi Temple, Captain Raymus Antilles hails them over the vehicle's communication device. "Colton, gather everybody and prepare for immediate departure. Code alpha-fifteen-three. Repeat Code alpha-fifteen-three."
Without asking the Jedi's permission, the airspeeder makes a 180 degree turn and begins speeding back to the Alderaan Embassy. "Sorry, looks like your reunion will be cut short. That code includes your Jedi security detail along with all Alderaan members."

When they return to the embassy grounds, Granite notices everyone is on high alert and the guards have been doubled or tripled. Every Alderaan guard posted seems to be on duty. Standing in the middle of the grounds, Granite notices a robed Togruta that he recognizes from his education at the Jedi Temple. Jedi Master Divak Tan, was a member of the Jedi Council of First Knowledge who oversaw education of younglings, the Great Library, and holocrons.
Behind him the gates to the embassy area is sealed off. Various Alderaan staff are loading cargo and supplies onto various Alderaan ships, all much smaller than the Tanative III.
